Great but extremely unknown/underrated games.

Quest 64. People say it was the worst RPG ever made, but [opinion]I thought it was a lot of fun. The graphics were terrible, but that doesn't really matter (see: Crysis) as long as it's fun to play. The combat system was interesting how you could move but it was still turn-based.[/opinion] And I don't know anyone personally who's ever heard of it.
I played through it. My friend owns it. During the summers he would visit his dad a couple of states away for the entire summer, so I'd borrow his 64 games. Quest was one of them I played through a bunch of times. I was too young though, I barely remember anything about it, just bits and pieces. TBH, I don't even remember beating it. :/

OT: I really enjoyed Evolution Worlds for the GameCube(I think it was originally on Dreamcast), but that was when I wasn't much into RPGs.

I think Prey and Crackdown from this generation are very underrated.

I really enjoyed the Ace Attorney games for the DS too.

I've previously stated my love for Republic Commando, and I also love Metal Arms: Glitch in the system. I'm noticing a pattern here: These both REALLY NEED SEQUELS. As in, right now.

Are you listening, LucasArts? I want to know what happened to Sev! That guy was Awesome!
Oh for fucks sakes, I want it to happen so badly! MA GITS was a great little game, and RC needs a sequel!

However, there is the problem that Pandemic is now closed, and Lucasarts is run by morons.

The original Pokemon series, almost everybody I knows has never played the first series, which also happened to be the best, considering all the games do is repeat each other now!

Armed and Dangerous on the Xbox. A surreal, hard-as-nails shooter with a very British, utterly hilarious sense of humour. Absolutely nobody I know has even heard of this game, which is a shame.
Wasn't that a Lucasarts published title? That game was fucking funny.

The tea drinking robot (forgot his name) shoving his hand up that creature's ass was hilarious.

"Yobi's Basic Spelling Tricks" is the BEST EDUTAINMENT GAME. EVER.

And if you claim to have played it, I'll be more than a little skeptical.

The Settlers series. It is fairly unique and if you haven't tried it before I would give it a whirl. I just noticed on Steam that the seventh one (Paths to a Kingdom) came out recently and since I was a big fan of Heritage of the King's I might give it a try.

On a slightly unrelated note I read the IGN review of it and the main complaint was is was an RTS, had a steep learning curve, and was hard if you hadn't played RTSs before, or weren't willing to be patient enough to learn. Well no shit Sherlock.

This really isn't a stand-alone game, but has anybody heard of the Half Life 2 mod "Research and Development"?
Research and development was beyond fun. And surprisingly functional for a mod that changed game mechanics so thoroughly.

How about Rocket Crowbar?
