Great games you've never completed

I never completed L.A. Noire, but I plan to do it in my next holiday. I think I stopped playing because I didn't have time fr it anymore because of a testweek, and I didn't like the cases on vice, I prefered homicide.
Ehhhh, that one I'd say you could probably just leave in the bin....especially if you've gotten to the Vice cases. The story takes a really weird turn all because of an incredibly out-of-character decision for the main character in a cutscene. Seems REALLY forced and the ending was pretty disappointing.

I think I may incur the wrath of thousand of RPG fans out there when I'm going to admit this but oh well: being a fan of it myself I didn't really have a computer back in the old classic CRPG days so I never played Baldur's Gate 2 or Planescape Torment at that time.

At the end of last year I decided it is time to play them and finished BG1 Enhanced Edition without any issues, then started BG2 and almost finished it. Something came up and I put it on hold for a reason and never went back to it. I still have it on my computer but I can't bring myself to finish it and I don't know why.

Same thing goes for Planescape Torment, I tried to play it when I was still a novice in PC gaming (7 years ago irrc?) and I remember getting stuck at a point which made me rage quit. I have it on my computer yet again now and I can't bring myself to play it even though I remember (story wise) that it was very interesting.

I think the reason I haven't got back to them it is because more and more games have been released during the time when I was playing and was more interested into playing those than finishing what I started. And now I'm in this strange mindset like they are calling me to finish them everytime I look at the shortcuts on my desktop, but I never make myself go through with it to finish them once and for all.

I've never finished any of the GTA games. They're fun in tehir own right and ive gotten many hours of play out of most of them. I just never got around to completing any of them. I guess they get to a point where it gets to the escorts or timed car missions with difficult objectives based on spastic controller schemes i just give up. Oh well.

Star Ocean: The Second Story:

I got all the way to the end boss, saved my game right before going through the door that leads to the fight and then stopped playing because I had to go to work.

13 years later I've never gone through that door.

I have the game in my case, I have the memory card with the save game, I just never bothered taking those last few steps.

Also Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner but that's more straightforward. There's a boss that I just can't beat.

Yeah that and fighting what seemed like the entire nations mafia population in the sewer with a frickin flame thrower and clumsy combat mechanics. almost wish I hadn't finished it, I would certainly have a higher opinion of the game.

My personal 2 are Dark Souls and Skyrim.

Loved the gameplay of Dark Souls but it didn't so much have a story as it did lore that you discovered and no characters worth mentioning. This just eventually just wore me out.

Skyrim never finished the main quest. Got going on some side stuff and never bothered to finish. The higher difficulty only turned enemies into damage sponges, most battles I never thought about healing and was selling at least 30 potions for every one I used. Just became a boring slog, I have thought about turning the difficulty down and speeding through the rest of the game, haven't yet.

Never could do a second play through of MGS2 even though I loved it the first time.

Basically any game that is too sandboxy, I get bored without any direction and like to have a cohesive story.

Never got the the end of Silent Hill 2 either, not for it being a bad game.

I love me some Final Fantasy but I could never get through IX. I've gotten so close multiple times but then I get sidetracked by real world things and...welp, just don't play it for a while.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at with that game. I was really enjoying it up until "that thing" happens in the Vice mission that just seems so forced, like something a character that's supposed to be as straight-laced and morally superior like Cole (think that's what the main character's name was :p) would never, ever do...but he does it anyway and starts the downward spiral of the game.

And yeah, that final mission was absolutely nuts, and not in the fun way. xP

Well, pretty much every game I've ever played I'll be going for 100% completion but lose interest at some point along the way.

As far as actually completing a game, Portal is the one that comes to mind most often. Loved the puzzles and level design, but for some reason I just couldn't get through the game without getting distracted by another game. What's worse is that I actually got to the last level when I last played it.

I guess I could also put down Oblivion. Never did complete the main quest even after 100+ hours. I was too interested in doing other stuff, particularly the Mage's Guild story, to really focus on the main story.

Never beat Heartgold. Especially sad considering that Pokemon Gold was the first game I ever owned. I just can't stand regular Pokemon games anymore. Too repetitive and easy. Pokemon Stadium is where it's at.

Oh my god, here's the list:

Braid
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
World of Goo
Super Meat Boy
Limbo
Thief Gold
Far Cry 3
Skyrim

The fact that I didn't finish any of these should tell you a lot about my attention span. It doesn't help that I got most of them through Steam sales and as such placed less value on them.

The Walking Dead.

Playing through it at a decent pace, bought the game as a whole so had all the episodes but when I was maybe halfway through Episode 4, the game crashed or something so ALL of my saves were just deleted, I could start from episode 4 again but all my choices from the episodes before would be forgotten so I haven't managed to work up the effort to start up again. It's a real shame, I was really invested in it before that.

Gradius 3. I love the game to death. I can't seem to beat it. I always get stuck on the last level. Anybody who has played it, can tell how much of a ***** the last level is.

They make a better version of a game you really liked, you can't finish it. You say that Pokemon Stadium is where it's at because it some how isn't repetitive or easy.

Considering your skeevy avatar, i don't think you are the one to judge his opinions about a pokemon game.

Now, On topic:
I suppose i never finished the first Bioshock...or any of the fable games.
Fable because i got bored and Bioshock because...well...i don't remember.

I felt like posting another pic of an apple. You blew my mind by saying I can't
question his nonsense because of my avatar. You won the internet.

I should add 'judge it OBJECTIVELY'.
