After playing Gta iv, when I played Saints Row 2 I just couldn't get used to the driving. I keep seeing comments about how bad the Gta driving is but I thought it suits the realism of the game! When I drive in Sr2, it just feels like such a downgrade in quality. And the car graphics don't hold a candle to the car graphics in Gta. This is not a versus discussion, it's just my opinion on the driving aspect! Leave me a comment on what you think!

I thought the driving in GTA IV was great. I haven't tried Saints Row 2, though.

In GTA IV, at first I had trouble with the handling, but after a long time playing, I prefer it to the older style of handling.

I have no idea what you mean by 'car graphics'.

Oh, and welcome to the Escapist.

...A comment on what?
On how the driving is, or a comment on your opinion?
I'll do both.
I prefer the Saints Row 2 driving, but that's mainly because I've played Saints Row 2 a lot longer.
Um, your opinion is very...opinionated.
I don't like it.

EDIT: Welcome to the Escapist!
Have fun.

I prefer GTA 4. I am more into the realism...

*Driving in 200 mph on a highway*
"Holy shit! Speed bump!"
*Fly's 400 yards and then faceplants the ground*
"SHIT! I need a hotdog!"

I don't think the driving in GTA IV is realistic because I was driving at about 70 km/h, drove over something the size of a peanut, and my car flew over a building.

Thanks for the welcome

By car graphics I mean how the cars look.
For example, the Commet in Gta iv looks like a porshe but in Saints Row 2 I'm surprised you can't see the virtual pencil lines still on them.
Did that help?

The main fault of GTA4 in driving is that it uses the same physics for the boats and the cars just with a flat surface for the cars. The boat driving on it is great, but the physics for it doesn't translate well to the cars.

That would be the models and texture resolutions.

So... you like the way that the cars in GTA look like real ilfe cars?

Sorry, I'm a little tired at the moment.

Ye.
Its just like they put some effort into making them look real.

GTA IV's driving was infinitely better than of San Andreas. While SA did maintain some sort of realism by increasing your driving skill to symbolize CJ's learning to drive, it got annoying real fast as in the beginning you drive like the roads are made of butter.

The high speed traffic chaos and police chases in GTA4 were kick ass, mostly thanks to the cars feeling a bit heavy. I had the same issue when I started SR2, but I enjoyed the overall game experience a heck of alot more than GTA4.

Driving is one thing I award to GTA IV over SR2. However, actually KEPPING a car is something I award to SR2 because whenever I park in my nifty little space, a pickup or other larger-than-my-Banshee vehicle rear-ends it right out of the space.

the driving in GTA4 is completely boring, except for when you're crashing. a massive downgrade from San Andreas.

and yes, I did get the hang of it. it's still boring.

Haven't played GTA4, but SR2 is supposed to be not as good looking nor realistic. It's about the wacky fun that GTA apparently has stopped delivering.

The driving was the only thing I actually liked from GTA IV besides the free-roam multiplayer mode.

You do know there's an option in SR2 to change the driving controls to be basically the same as GTA IV's, right?
