Tell me, what do you run that needs an overclocked i7 rather than an overclocked i5. Was it worth the extra lump of money, I hope to god this wasn't just for gaming.

That and the SA is bulkier and apparently much more hassle to put together.

Is your PC just for gaming. If it's not then that's fine but an i7 is a waste for gaming. By that stage you are just spending cash for the sake of it.
Answers:

1) Triple monitors (soon), and two overclocked graphics cards, a 3D upgrade sometime next year is also in the works.

2) The Silver Arrow also has the distinction of not looking like a beige plastic piece of shit in the middle of my case.

3) Instead of using a TV, for anything, I use my PC, and also, it clocks to 4.9G stable. I was after a long-term machine for the next 5-10 years and I think you'll agree, I got it.

Was it worth it? Yes.
Just going to point out that you will not be able to play any new games at anything higher then medium/low with 2 580 1.5gb vram with 3D.

I have to play bf3 at around medium settings without 3d.

3x at 5760x1080 resolution.

And just want to point out that I've got 2x 480 which means that your will have a bit more power then my cards but it will be the vram that will bottleneck

Lol I'll see how it goes, I'm not sure about playing a multiplayer FPS in 3D anyway. worst comes to worst, I'd turn off surround for it :p

Just do not want to give you any false dreams. Surround takes huge amount of power to use (Both gpu power and vram) and if you decide to use 3d it will take twice the power so that is pretty much impossible with the current hardware unless you decide to get 4x 7970/680 (if you want to play at high/ultra settings) and then you get other problems (micro stuttering and such)

Oh Deffo. I'm pretty certain I'm not going to go near 3D till the technology improves further, right now I really, really don't like stereo 3D movies -_-

Currently my monitor resolution is pretty low, I have some old Dell monitors from previous computers plugged in atm, so I'm going triple with a third dell monitor (all are 1280x1024x75hz) to see what the whole experience is like, if it's good I'll upgrade all of them. Add to that the fact that 3D monitors in Australia cost an absolute f*ckton right now as well :p

As long as they play games I don't really care about their specs.

But as for launch titles (for the 360) I'd say:
Either a new Halo/CoD/GoW game
Obligatory shitty Kinect game
Maybe a new Fable game/Peter Molyneux game
Some crappy sports title that only 'mainstream gamers' care about.

For PS3, I really have no idea because I don't have one, and don't keep up to date with their exclusive titles.

If they don't meet that then they'd already be behind on release and there'd be no point getting one.
Besides cost efficiency, no point at all.

Don't get me wrong, I use both PC and Xbox, for relatively different reasons.

Sounds like a name for a possible mechanical overlord.

I predict that the next gen wont be much better than the current, if at all, in order to offset the massive losses they took the last time.
