Correction: missions are still in the game. Quests have been removed.
Right, sorry. Semantics, always getting in the way of a good time ):
I'm actually surprised there has been so very little mention of this game on the escapist, has anyone else noticed this...?
There's been loads of news lately, but very little has come to the site.

I played the first GW and enjoyed it. I didn't get the expansions for reasons I can't quite recall. But GW2 looks to be pretty amazing and as it continues in GW1's tradition of being free after the initial purpose I will be buying it almost for sure. The combat looks great (both solo and the way things can synergize - firewalls and arrows making fire arrows for instance) and there seems to even be a focus on having a sort of story as well as events just happening rather than quests that are handed out.

It definitely looks fun.

I'm on the Guild Wars 2 subreddit almost everyday. Just hoping it isn't released around the same time The Old Republic is or I might have to make some tough decisions.

Yes. The only dilemma it might pose is what race I'm going to play as. Lord knows Ranger/Warrior is my preferred profession combo. Unless there are no secondary professions. Then I have 2 dilemmas.

Well look at that, I can count.

No secondary professions, I believe race basicaly fills in for it.

Yeah, you only get one profession. But you get racial skills and such to make up for that. Norn for example get to be all shapeshifty.

I remember doing a trial for the first one when I was playing WoW. It was very limited (think it stopped after you played so many hours), but I go so hooked I pretty much canceled my WoW account right there. Did I buy it then?

...No, as I was honestly too afraid to get completely addicted to it (a fear WoW or any other MMORPG has yet to even give a hint of). But I'm looking forward to GW2. Won't pick it up on launch day though, as I'm waiting for it to come out so I can build the comp to run it properly.

And Charr get something too, but I find it hard to care since their most awesome skill is four-legged running.

I find it hard to believe that the game is going to have a paladin as a profession. Only religious race seems to be the humans. But I think the other heavy armor proff is going to be a "defender" of some sort.

My most wanted game at the moment. I've played GW about 350h and it's a wonderful game. Never really got into the PVP that much even though I wanted. Better luck in GW2 'cause I'll it the moment they release it.
