Most girls under that so called 'category' simply date arseholes, period.

If you date a guy, his brother, his cousin, fall into a pattern of going to the same scenes and generally doing everything to fall for the same 'type' of guy, then ofcourse you're going to have a higher ratio of arseholes to differents guys to date under statistics.

I'm not saying these specific ladies are bad with math, but they sure go out of their way to seems so.

About two months ago, my sister called me with the "men are assholes" speech in mind after a breakup. My response:

*annoyed* "Here's a bit of advice: Quit opening up [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IfYouKnowWhatIMean] to the douchebags you encounter. They act that way because it works in most cases, and I won't blame them if you fall for that tactic."

*cue her getting pissed and saying she never wants to talk to me again.* Frankly, I don't care.

Then your ass is grass.
What does that even mean? I like Grass, it's nice to lay down on; cool, fresh, relaxing. Is that a compliment?
It's a shortened form of the phrase.

The other half is "...and I'm the lawnmower."
I never knew that! Learned something new today.

OT: Meh, it allows you to say 'Oh but I'm not an asshole' and just so how much of a dick you truly are. Or a nice person.

What really irritates me is when they make statements like that and then blatantly ignore all the guys who aren't assholes like oh let's say for example, ME!

This does get annoying sometimes. If there upset about something then I just let it slide, but sometimes they generally hate us, and this I do not approve of. We can't all be that bad...

What I want to say at this:

"No, you just totally failed to understand how men work, pissed him off, and now you're mad about it.

Stop whining at us about it!"

EVERYONE is an asshole, some just embrace it more.

now as for the girl, I would mark that under sexist as she is generalizing.

Only a few men/boys do stupid things? Damn, doing a youtube search on human stupidity would take a year to watch all the amateur clips. I would say that about 10% of those videos would be based on women. See when women do stupid things, it is usually embarrassing to their social standing. When men do stupid things....they usually end up in the hospital. I'm a guy so I tend to notice these things too often.

truth is, damn near the majority of girls say that because they are freaking stupid and date ONLY assholes. they arent into nice guys, so its their own fault. they dont even realize it, either. its pretty ridiculous

I just let it slide nowadays. It's just a fact of nature. Birds sing, people eat and sleep, and women will always ***** about every man under the sun just because one of them annoyed her in some way.

To be honest dude, just be glad you know women who take out their aggression towards the male gender with their hyperbolic bitching and ranting, as opposed to ones who work out their anger issues with us by kicking us in the balls at the slightest provocation. I knew a girl like that...it's a good thing I never want kids cause by now I'm probably incapable of making them.

it's not man's fault in general that they are too stupid to realize the types of guys they associate themselves with.

I'd say that:

a) if that's really the way they genuinely feel all the time, then you should pity them for whatever has happened to them to make them think this way. Because it's possible that they have actually managed, in their life, to only ever be involved with guys who are assholes.

b) otherwise, it's probably temporary vehemence and hyperbole brought about by having one or more of the men in their lives be an asshole (for whatever reason they see as being asshole-y), and you can take it with the same equanimity that you take people saying things like 'Augh! Bus drivers are so full of [insert expletive of choice here]' because one driver was snippy with them. It's common to generalise when you're angry. Don't take it personally.

It doesn't annoy me in the slightest. It just helps me identify those women that I wish to avoid. She is saying that because all the men in her life that she cares about are either being assholes, or are perceived as assholes by her. Either way she has issues.

I shouldn't say all women through, you can usually tell if they are just saying that to exaggerate a point or really believe it. It's the one's that really believe it you have to watch out for.

The phase is commonplace enough that I can shrug it off. I got nothing to prove, and there's plenty of guys who'll go out of their way to show that there is a not-asshole guy.

What annoys me about the phrase is when they complain TO guys about it. That's just silly... really! ;P

I hang out with only girls, and I've noticed a few things, and one of those would be this: women LOVE to generalize things. If one guy is an asshole to her, EVERY guy is an asshole in her eyes.

It really annoys me when girls say this. If one of my friends ever says it I usually make a list of all the guys she's friends with to shut her up. Though I must say that usually when I hear someone say this they've been hurt and say it in anger and don't really mean it.

Okay, girl here, and yes guys, I have sympathy for you. It is sexist and stupid for girls to say that, but I would like to say that girls that say that aren't just dating assholes.

My ex and I got along great, we loved talking, and we had lots in common. I know you probably won't believe because everyone thinks that girls are clingy, but I gave him his space. I never minded when he spent time with friends over me and even encouraged him to do so. He was a really nice guy and very sweet, even romantic.

And then he just stopped talking to me. He never said anything was wrong, never said he wanted to break up, that he had met someone else, that I had done anything to make him think twice about me...he just stopped talking to me. Never called, never emailed, nothing.

So I was extremely hurt. I thought that I had met a nice guy that I could possibly get serious with (our relationship was only a month or two old)...so my super sweet boyfriend...turned out to be an asshole.

And that was only one of my sweet boyfriends.
