What annoys me the most is when women say they want a nice guy then I show up to pull the whole "Hey I'm not a dick, so come chill with me" line they just ditch me and go back to those terrible guys then complain about it later.

The culmination of a mentor's suicide, and the disgusting acts those who are Pro-Choice are willing to commit in total push me away completely and utterly from anyone who is Pro-Choice.
But brainwashing people with false or religious propaganda is ok? Standing outside clinics harassing random women as they make the hardest choice of their lives isn't disgusting? The desire to completely remove another person's ability to make their own choices about their life and body doesn't bother you at all?
I never mentioned religion. No, I don't think it is OK. Not their choice when they decide to have a baby. (This is what I think, it does not have to be what you think) There is a new living thing that they have a responsibility to care for. I wouldn't stand outside and shout at them while they get an abortion, that is just plain insensitive. Instead I cannot, (my mind is repulsed by it) converse with them in a normal manner after that. I would just question why they made that choice.

You would really rather force someone to bring a baby into this world with no way or desire to care for it than let the woman have a procedure while the baby is still just bits of tissue?
Who says they have to care for it? I was adopted, and the same can happen for any child who is not born. So... Just kill it while it is useless bits of tissue. Good logic. Kill the old, they are no longer functioning pillars of society.

I've yet to see any pro-choice person do anything remotely as bad as the things listed above. But apparently they're ok with you because they stand for your opinion.
Just because you have never heard of it, does not mean it does not happen. I find your last sentence confusing. What are you trying to say? Who is OK with my opinion?

Usually the proper way to deal with feminist types who say annoying things like this is "I wholeheartedly agree, now go make me a sandwich."
It's been scientifically proven that besides different sex organs and hormones, men and women are pretty much the same. Why some women still think they need to prove that they're better, I know not.
Either way, talk like this annoys me.

Certainly not, I respect you for placing your opinion in a way that doesn't feel like it is shouting at me lol. And, I can see what you are saying, (I can always see what people are saying when they say it like you did) but considering just how I am, I couldn't personally agree with it. Also, you have made me realize to stop being such a pushy asshole and accept that some people will be Pro-Choice. I suppose I can... be friends... with some of them. Mmm. We will see how this goes.

You forgot to list the murders, and the calling for murders.

Surely some other escapists have run into girls like this. The ones who will make statements like "I wish we lived in a world where all guys werent complete fuckfaces". Even if they aren't necessarily (stereotypically) feminist, this just totally drives me insane. I don't want to say it's sexist, because I almost think they don't mean literally "all guys" when it's said, but it certainly comes out that way. Like if I said "I wish all women would stop being such dumb bitches", I'd probably be assaulted for it.

How much does this annoy others, if it does?
Do women and yourself a favor, and don't go by teenage boys' definition of "Feminism." Feminism means only that you want equality of the sexes.
Linkara from TGWTG has proudly proclaimed that he's a feminist multiple times. Unless you're particularly sexist yourself, you should be a feminist.
I mean, using "Feminist" as a derogatory term is all fine and dandy within the internets, but in reality, it makes you look uneducated or childish.

That being said, I don't really get this thread. Its pretty much, "I don't like girls who sometimes make negative generalizations about guys. You all dislike them too, correct? Either tell me how much you dislike them, or feel indifferent."
I'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who would be interested in advocating for a group defined only by their brash insults. I generally find the OP offensive, seeing as its only purpose is to advocate hate towards a loosely-defined group, with their only defining factor being their sex. However, because of the way its worded, there's no rational counter-argument to the OP's point.

If you want to talk about dealing with apparent double standards, make a thread about double standards as a whole. If you want to make a thread about dealing with specific people, I suggest going to the advice forums and trying to explain the situation in as unbiased a manner as possible. I'm sure whatever pushed you to making this thread in the first place could inspire many excellent thread topics, but creating asking for people to reinforce your feelings is the wrong way to try to deal with your problems.

I never said that you mentioned religion. You were carrying on about the supposedly horrendous acts that pro-choice people commit, so I pointed out some of the actions of pro-lifers.

Third-term abortion is not legal everywhere. It's not legal most places. At the point where most abortion is legal, all that is being "killed" is a bunch of tissue. A bunch of tissue is not alive, nor does it have to be cared for, at least in the sense you implied in your statement.

Yes, adoption is a possibility. It's just as painful emotionally as some women find having an abortion. Some women aren't bothered by it at all. There's no across-the-board standard. As to your comment about the old...Complete strawman. There is NO comparison whatsoever between a piece of tissue (a first trimester fetus) and a fully grown adult who may or may not be disabled. Not all elderly are unable to contribute to society, either. Nice generalization.

Fine. Show me some horrendous thing a pro-choice person has done, other than exercise their choice and do something you personally find wrong. I can profusely document every example I brought up.

OK, I apologize. That should have read something along the lines of "people who share your opinion." Sorry for the confusion.

Being a guy I still agree with this statement. putting it so blatantly might look bad but it is pretty true in my experience.

Genders tend to have a weird "team" mentality. When people say things like this, they tend to ignore the assholery of their own gender. In reality, the more accurate generalization would probably just be People are assholes.

Then why call it "feminism"? Why not "humanism" or "equality"?

The intended definition of feminism may indeed be equality between the sexes, but the word itself emphasises a feminine point of view, and quite a few feminists actively encourage discrimination against men - they call it "positive discrimination" as if there can be any such thing. To some self-professed feminists it's nothing more than a revenge fantasy for generations of perceived poor treatment at the hands of men, but taking it out on today's men, most of whom have never in their lives even thought about oppressing any woman.

I want to see true equality between men and women, but I would never call myself a feminist, the word has too much other baggage attached.

Ok this has nothing to do with anything in this topic but I have to get this off my chest. You have the single greatest profile picture I have ever seen anywhere ever. Everytime I see it I have to stop what I'm doing and watch it a few times.
Why thank you, I am flattered.

I have a friend who thinks exactly like the topic at hand because her brother is a dick. If you believe such a thing, it becomes true. <True story bro

Just look at your reaction- the term immediately illicits the idea of women getting so many more rights than they, by current standards, should have. That's exactly why the term became the name for wanting equal rights between the sexes. At the dawn of feminism, the idea of women being peers to men was outrageous, and therefore, the term implied exactly what it was intending to do.
Nowadays, the gap has gotten a lot closer, but the word still remains. The term's been around for over 100 years, though, and saying that one should abstain from Feminism or anything relating to the term because its antiquated name may suggest something is irrational.

Hey, pretty much all women suck at sending signals that are easy to interpret. It's sad but true.
Women out there, if you like us, flirt. If you just want to be friends, don't act super nice and interested, because we think that means something more. :(
FFS THANKYOU!

Only a man would start a thread like this...

Just kidding, in all seriousness I as a female can't stand women like that. I mean I understand that before and including fifty years ago women rallying for their rights was needed to bring about equal rights but now it seems like most "feminists" want women to have more rights than men.

It annoys me when girls will intentionally hang around dickheads, then complain that they are hanging around dickheads.
