There have been a couple - maybe even a few - remarks made about my comment in the original post that I didn't know whether the claim of a crack was true and, more to the point, that I couldn't be bothered to find out. Some readers think that I should take the time to find out, that my journalistic integrity requires that I confirm the truth of the story and that sort of thing.
One thing I think I've been pretty clear and consistent on during my time here is my opinion on piracy. I have nothing but contempt for it, and for those who participate in it. This is pretty much the same thing. Maybe there's a crack, maybe there isn't. (It seems pretty clear at this point that there is.) I don't care. I have no interest in rolling around with the pigs to find out what their poop smells like. If the original post, and this one, sound dismissive, that's only because they're meant to. If that makes me a failure as a news guy, so be it.
