Half Life 2: Research and Development Mod

I played through it a while ago, and it was amazing. Whoever made it put a crapload of effort into it: the puzzles are well thought out, levels are detailed, and there are lots of awesome set pieces. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was made by Valve. In fact, it's probably the closest thing we're going to get to Episode 3 for a long time.

Hmmm, I might get this, although I'll need to get the Orange Box on steam to download it.

The Orange Box is ?30 or about £20-25. For what you get it's well worth it in my opinion.

i've already got it on 360 though so don't massively fancy buying it again!

I just played the part where you get the gravity gun. That was better than any Half Life puzzle I have ever played. Seriously good. That guy should be working for Valve in my opinion

How come whenever I post about mods I get millions of people yelling at my saying "No ads"

OT: I thought that R&D for HL1 was a multiplayer affair, where you had to steal plans or something from the other base...

Just finished playing this mod and..It's fucking awesome! Some of the best puzzles I ever seen in a game. Unlike some OTHER mod, these puzzles aren't really head cracking hard and don't require mad skills.

Some parts of this game are even superior to Valve stuff. Loved the puzzle you have to do to get the Gravity Gun, building Mr. Whrily and fighting off the Strider.

I hope whoever made this mod is getting a job in Valve or somewhere else. Best thing to play while you wait for Episode 3 or Black Mesa.

Definitely. I'm only on level 4 but some of the puzzles in this give you the Portal feeling of accomplishment.

This is a really good puzzle mod, I played it a few months ago when it first game out. Although its quite short it is defiantly worth playing although when I played there were a couple of bugs though they've probably been ironed out by now.
