I think Halo's going to become like Resident evil. They've made something like 8 but are only up to 4. It might be O.K. I'm not gonna be too hopeful for the game though I will still probably play it.

I thought Bungie said that Halo 3 recon would be their final Halo.
Production is being passed to Gearbox
Well Bungie hated working on Halo after Halo 2 if I remember right. Maybe that's why everyone except fanboys hates it. Maybe a company that loves Halo will take care of it.

I loved Halo: CE. Really amazing game. But the stories of 2 & 3 were all over the place, and for the most part consisted of achieving the same goals over and over again. Halo 2 was almost a step back in terms of gameplay, although 3 helped. Honestly, I think they said all they needed to say with the first one. The Arbiter was a notable and welcome exception, but was not well received (ugh). I at least liked all 3 Halos, despite my criticisms.

In general, I don't like it when franchises change hands.

If they make it, I will probably buy it. If not, whatever. Can't say I really care one way or the other.

I was reading my Game Informer magazine last night and they had a small blurb talking about how it has been heavily hinted several times that there would be another installment in the Halo series and that it would be made by Gearbox, the makers of the Brothers in Arms series of videogames. I'm personally a little excited, I like Halo, and I like Gearbox games, so this should be good right? I'm also ecstatic that production is being moved away from Bungie, they've been treating their fans like shit lately.
I was wondering though: Do we really need another Halo game? Should they have switched production from Bungie to Gearbox?
What are your thoughts?
Halo should have never been developed.

Ironic that you said /flamewar when chances are you just started one where there wasn't one.

No harm done, everybody's gotta sleep, just a word of advice: It' courteous to read the OP or a few of the other posts on the thread before you post.

I'm wondering what the new game would be about. The Covenant's leaders were killed and the Elites are now friendly towards the humans. You could say that every member of the Covenant was killed by halo 4.2 as they all went to "walk the path", and the majority of flood were killed as well in the same way. That would leave flood on the other halo rings as the only possible enemy and they're all contained. I guess Gravemind could have sent flood to other rings or planets on covenant battleships, which would lead to a much stronger foe, but flood alone would be pretty boring.

Did I ramble too much?

halo 3 was a really average game who's multilayer paled in comparison to CoD4's however if its going to be made by someone else I'd take a look at it.

didn't you ever see the secret ending? after you beet it on legendary they have a little clip of master chiefs suit powering up and him being somewhere new. they could take that and make it anything they want.

I read something about a Halo game called Halo wars. and I also read something about a Halo:Forerunner game.
However to answer your question, I would say that it depends on the person,I can only answer for myself and I say yes. Because Halo 3 left me wanting more.
As for the shifting from Bungie to Gearbox? I don't know

I'm thinking that there have been versions of that rumour floating around since Halo 2 came out. I'll believe it, and ponder it, should it ever be announced by either Bungie or Gearbox... but the rumour mill will grind out anything and everything, reasonable or not, so I don't treat it seriously at all.
