No, we do not need another Halo game. I really don't know how they could expand on any parts of the story, and weren't you supposed to "Finish the Fight"?

I guess it's "Finish this fight, go to the next one!"
Who say's its about Master Chief? Maybe its about his clone or years in the future where Master Chief is being rapidly aged. Or some other people in the Halo verse.
And, They'll use magic walkie-talkies that fit in your ears, and only the people using said walkie-talkies can hear them. And the clones will use the 'talkies even when right infront of whomever with which they wish to speak! oh also, there'll be one thats very feminine.

Long ago I wrote a post about having a Halo 4 sometime in the future, like 10 years from now. It would be good to have a game where the plot is that Master Chief is being woken up (is that right, woken up?) from cryo sleep to deal with a new threat in the distant future, long after the end of Halo 3. It would have to be a truly great game, long, epic, with a good story. And there would need to be only one, let it go after that. If this idea is brought to fruition, Halo and Master Chief will be true legends, the stuff of mythology in the modern age.

Thing is, that's the key: do it a long time from now. Now, or in a couple years from now, is too soon. If they make a new Halo game now, it will just seem like fan service, like Star Wars: the Clone Wars, or some similar fanboy festival. Do it in say, ten-fifteen years, that'll be great.

As for the developer issue, I say let any developer do it as long as it's a good developer, especially one experienced in making FPS's. The name of a company doesn't make a game, it''s the work that gets put into it, the attention to detail, the quality of gameplay, the graphics, and the story.

The game could be about the struggle for a once cutting edge killing machine to adapt to new and frightening technology and tactics...

...Or we could just make that into an original game instead(preferably with a relatable protagonist).

Or the 3rd opition is to make a game about forerunners...(I'm sure they have something to do with that catacomb of a story line)

I've read some of the books and apparently humans are the decendants of the forerunners. They built a planet (I know, epic construction job, right?) called Onyx and it was actually a giant engine that drove this great technology, a portal to a compressed world that was immune to the Halo rings' power. Some of them hid in there and re-emerged later, found a new planet to build a society on (Earth) and as the years went by, the Forerunner heritage was forgotten. When the Covenant discovered the existence of humans, it was at first believed that we held valuable Forerunner artifacts. When the Prophets learned that humans are descended from the Forerunners, they kept it a secret and ordered our extermination. The reason for this is that the Prophets knew that this meant their whole religion was a lie. If that fact got out, the Covenant would be torn apart. Rather than see the end of The Covenant, they ordered that all humans must be destroyed. And that is how the Forerunners fit into the Halo story.

Halo 1 was really good, admit it. The only problem was repetitive interiors. From there, meh. Still not a bad game, but not very good. I would like the franchise to be redeemed, but because of all the perfect scores and overhype and racism made it kind of a drag. Also the lacklustre campaign.
