Sarah poked mostly around the corner ahead of Luna to provide cover fire if needed, but when she saw the group lift she opened fire on them, focusing on the elites since they where by far the most dangerous of the group.

JASTIS-015

The Spartan responded to Everett. ?Alright, I am going to tag the targets for us three over here. Once it tells you to kill the Elite, we will all fire on our designated targets and take out any before they could be signal others.?

He tagged the Elite and on everyone?s HUD, a 2 appeared over its head, referencing to Everett being Red-Two. Jastis then tagged two grunts for himself, the one on the turret and another just lazily moving about. He then tagged the Jackal with a 3 for Lincoln and 4 on the last grunt for Kenneth.

?On my mark?? Jastis paused for a moment. ?Mark!?

Lt. Sierra Crown

"Alright, guys, enough target practice, get your clips, casings, and all that collected, drop 'em in the bins so we can reuse them, I don't think they've got 50 caliber sniper rounds here, sorry. Be sure to replace the stuff on your armor too guys, we don't need one of you to pull another "Chagerben"." The woman blushed a bit at the memory, still somewhat fresh in all of their minds.

Walking back to the armory proper, her shells for the shotgun slung across her back still unused because of her overseer position, she saw an engineer and one of those...Turians, she thought they were called talking over the simulation.

"so why automatically assume you're going to act like them?"

A small thunk accompanied Lt. Crown as she entered the space and set her heavy weapon down before they hit landfall.

"Oh, and let them take us in our sleep now, eh?" In order to stave off accusations, she added on,"Not that I'm sure of that from any but the flash-light heads."

"And if you're still offering food, I'll take some." The woman walked to the edge of the platform to better view the simulation.

"Why are they doing that? Standard tactic, lay down covering fire just as your squad sniper gets into position and offs one of the Elites, or the Brutes as the case goes, and then gun down the other one before they get to you. Grunts aren't much more than wasted ammo unless they go boom-hands on you. Grenades are too expensive to use on just two Elites and four Grunts, at least they are in my squad." She sighed, they were ODST too, she hoped they knew what they were doing.

Alpha

The Geth Engineer stood in the UNSC engine room, along with two other Geth, calibrating and improving efficiency on the consoles. These parallel humans were even more disorganized than their counterparts in this universe, so many coding errors that needed to be fixed before the GARDIAN as well as a few other upgrades to the ship could be made. Why did the organics always try to find the hardest way to do something?

Everett was surveying the scene below through the scope of his sniper rifle, as a number 2 appeared on his heads up display which hovered above the Elite's head; this was the target designated for him. He took a few moments to adjust his sight so it was aimed directly at the head, everything was lining up as Jastis gave out the order to shoot.

"On my mark..." Jastis paused for a moment. "Mark!" As soon as Jastis finished speaking, Everett pulled the trigger, and in a brief hiss, the Elite had dissolved into a series of holographic particles after collapsing onto the floor.

"Tango down." He said over the communications link.

"OOOOOOOOH BOO-YAAA!!!" Alan shouted in glee, as he watched the sniper place a perfect shot into the side of the elite's head, and watched as holographic blood and particles flew everywhere in gory destruction. "That's some fine shooting there!" He said with roaring approval, occidentally spilling popcorn all over his lap.

SSG Murphy

The squad moved forwards, shooting as they went.

"This is fucking awesome!" Murphy yelled over the gunfire. "Let's do this every time. Sure as hell beats getting into a firefight."

After neutralizing a few grunts, he joined Sarah in shooting down the elite.

Quintus glanced at the newcomer on the deck, with the look of an officer. He thought that he recognized her from the standoff at the hangar, but he wasn't quite sure. "I wouldn't worry about the Geth, they'd never try something like that without due provocation. Of course, no one is quite sure what 'Due Provocation' is with them, so it's probably just easiest to leave them to their own devices." That philosophy had served him well since peace had been achieved, might as well do what he was here for and pass it along.

He was interrupted by a sudden shout from Alan. It seemed the teams had started to move in, and from what he could see, they seemed to be performing admirably. Quintus grinned, for it was looking like those he was going to be serving with were to a one professionals.

"Tango down."

Time for a followup then. Thought Kenneth, quickly switching to his Mattock Assault and popping out of cover for a quick double tap at the Grunt designated for him. The first shot hit the head of the grunt as it recoiled back alittle while the second shot made the Grunt topple over itself.

Sarah dumped a clip into draining the shield of one elite, and quickly drew her side arm and put three magnum slugs in the elites skull before reloading her rifle as the halogram faded "this is a hell of lot better, thats for sure" emptying the rest of her side arms clip into the other elites shielding "but donno if this will work for the Brutes, and i'm really more worried about them"

"Kinda hard to do that when they're supposed to be some kind of engineering gods. I don't know what it is about them, but they still scare the hell out of me."

She sighed and leaned against the railing, watching the fight play out. However, she saw something advancing from behind all of them, flashes of movement, and that was it. Jackals maybe, but whatever they were she was sure they weren't Elites, they didn't have the right gait.

"And here comes something else behind these guys."

Lincoln-Geth-VR room

Lincoln lay prone and made sure his weapon was at the ready. As Jastis marked his target he lined his rifle sights on the Jackel's head as Everett got in position to take out his elite.

"Tango Down." Everett said over communications.
Lincoln pulled the trigger and dropped the Jackel as soon as Everett took his shot. "Enemy eliminated." Lincoln mentioned to Jastis.

Eli set down his rifle while the enemies were lifted, and smoothly unholstered his pistol and lined up on the second Elite, taking carefully aimed headshots, some of which hit the neck and upper chest, but once he got through the shield he got a shot up the jaw and right into the cranium. "Heh." Eli used the remaining rounds to start headshotting grunts "This makes it easier."

JASTIS-015

As soon as he heard it, Jastis shot his BR at the Grunt at the turret and before it hit the floor shot the other one, both in the head. All the tangos were dead, they had done well. He signaled them to form up and they did and thus moved on further into the refinery. They stopped at a large gate and each hugged the walls.

Past the gate more Covenants lurked, this time it was much heavier resistance. There was a wraith, five Elites, one Brute, and two Grunts. Jastis looked up, there was an overpass going over the gate and above the enemies. Then he got an idea. ?Kenneth, I want you to go up on the overpass, when I tell you, I want you to use your biotic?s to put a lot of weight on them, if just for a moment to stun them.? He then looked back out at the wraith which could cause a problem.

?Everett, I want you to flank that wraith, before Kenneth uses his biotic?s, I want you to get up close and put a grenade in the back of that. Just as you back away and it explodes, I will signal Kenneth to use his biotics. From there me and Lincoln will rush in, I will go after that Brute, while the rest get those Elites down. Kenneth once we move into your range of your biotic?s, disengaged it and begins providing cover fire on those Elites. Lastly Everett you also come in and aid me and Lincoln. Is that clear, any questions??

I know there isn?t actually a biotic ability like that in the games, but don?t see why it couldn?t be done.

As the last of the holograms faded Murphy turned fully to Sarah.

"Let's just use Luna's magic and Eli's grenades to make an improvised RPG. That should take care of any brutes or wraiths we come across."

"we can try it, but we shouldn't rely on it to 'fix all our problems'. you've been doing this longer then i have, i'm sure you've seen 'highly effect weapons' come and go in the past, and the effect over reliance can have" Sarah said to Murphy. Luna's biotic where potent but she was kinda worried it may make her team lazy or worse, careless, and she really didn't want that, especially later when live would be on the line.

Kenneth checked his Mattock again. A few more shots left. He nodded at Jastis. "Alright, but I can't hold them down for a long time." With that, Kenneth started making his way over to the overpass, taking cover at every turn.

Murphy turned back out and signaled for the squad to stack up.

"The mind is the greatest weapon one can posses." As the squad stacked up, Murphy placed himself in front of Sarah. "I know you're trained to take point, but I'm trained to take bullets for the squad leader. Kind of weird because that's usually my job."

Murphy looked back to make sure everyone was ready.

"And if we lose biotics, we've won plenty of battles without them."

Alan was concentrating with such a intense fury on the bloody, visceral combat that was taking place between the two teams below, that he did not notice a female marine pass comment as she sidled by, also dipping her hand into his bucket of popcorn, that stood forgotten on one of the chair's arms, and grab a generous handful of salty nodules.

The theft of his popcorn was only noticed by Alan when there was a lull in the combat; the two teams were discussing tactics, or something boring like that, and he went down to pick up his bucket of popcorn; only to find it severely diminished. Knowing that Quintus, the Turian hadn't touched it, he looked up in dismay, and asked the observation room at large. "Hey! Who's been stealing my popcorn?"

All the shots of Red Team connected, and the group moved further near the refinery entrance stopping near the front gate; as this time the defence was a lot more bothersome, with their being less Grunts, more Elites, the inclusion of a Brute, and finally the Covenant's Wraith artillery tank. Jastis then gave out the orders.

"Everett, I want you to flank that wraith, before Kenneth uses his biotic's, I want you to get up close and put a grenade in the back of that. Just as you back away and it explodes, I will signal Kenneth to use his biotics.... Lastly Everett you also come in and aid me and Lincoln. Is that clear, any questions?"

"Clear as crystal sir." Everett responded with, as he revealed a plasma grenade in his hand. "This should do the job just fine." Everett then switched out his sniper rifle for the M7S Caseless Submachine Gun, the range on it should suffice for the task at hand. He then made his way towards the target, taking cover to avoid detection.
