Sarah pulled some breaching charges out of the pouch and set them up on the door, a stray round bouncing of her armor "Ready? Breach in three" she said as she put her hand on Murphy's shoulder got ready to breach the building

Time seemed to slow as Sarah blew the door. A moment passed, then rote memory set in. First through the door, boot on the corner, break left, engage targets. Sarah's rounds flew past his head as she entered and broke right. Seconds after the door blew, all hostiles were down with rounds either center mass or headshot.

"Sarah, I'm going to post up. See if our rebel leader is in these guys." Murphy posted himself slightly back from the door and back at angle, ready to take down any threat that entered. He knelt, and as he did so his kneepad rested in a pool of blood from one of the rebel soldiers.

"Everett, Murphy" He said, keying his radio, "You going to come join us, or are you having too much fun?"

Sarah put a couple round into the face of a hostile as soon as she started into the door, then broke right. "Clear" she said as the last hostile fell.

"Sarah, I'm going to post up. See if our rebel leader is in these guys." Murphy said as he took a knee into a pool of blood coming from an enemy.

Sarah nodded and took a knee in a dark corner "Romeo Actual, this is Blue Actual, any sign of the targets?"

With the addition of Jastis as an extra sniper, the enemy combatants were going down at a fair pace. Everett had to fall into cover a few times when he narrowly avoided shot to the head; which given that he was a sharpshooter was a key area to aim for. Eventually a message came in over the radio, it was from Murphy.

"You going to come join us, or are you having too much fun?" He asked.

"Could say I am having fun Murphy; but I should be joining you in a few moments." Everett replied back as he reloaded a fresh magazine into his rifle, something he managed speed up on since he first entered the Marines. His fumbling in the early days nearly costed him his life a few times, but he made up for it with highly accurate shooting. Soon the area was relatively clear, what few members of the opposing force had gone; Everett then keyed in his radio to contact Jastis.

"Sir, I'm going to link up with the rest of Blue Team now." He said as he climbed down to a lower roof, and activated his camouflage, blending in with the surroundings almost instantly and began the short run to Sarah and Murphy. As Everett neared them, he could see a small group of about three enemy soldiers moving in on the others from a side alley. With them coming from the opposite direction, both Sarah and Murphy could be flanked.

Switching out his rifle for one of his combat knives and his pistol, Everett leaped from the roof as his active camouflage began to deactivate, and came crashing down onto the enemy; killing one with his knife and knocking another back. The third turned around and began to aim his weapon at Everett whilst the second tried to engage him in melee. They each traded blows for a few moments, both getting one or two good strikes, causing Everett to almost stumble over. It was then that he saw the third about to fire, he grabbed his melee opponent and used them as a shield, taking the kill shot in his place. Everett then threw the body at the other enemy, and with this momentary distraction, killed the enemy with his pistol.

After regaining his balance due to a mixture of the jump and several punches to the body, Everett made his way to both Sarah and Murphy, seeing the busted up door on his way in.

As Everett walked through the door Murphy turned.

"What the fuck man? You get into a fight with a grizzly bear?" He said, laughing.

Murphy stood and started kicking over the bodies, looking for the rebel leader.

"He's not in this bunch. This is gonna be a fucking pain in the ass, isn't it?"

"Should we come down and support you on ground level?" Jastis' voice crackled over the comm.

"Negative Romeo Actual. Request you continue sniper support, and attempt to locate houseguest. Please also asses the OPFOR strength on the AA batteries. Over."

Murphy got into position by the door.

"Let's find this fucker."

"What the fuck man? You get into a fight with a grizzly bear?" Murphy asked as he turned to meet Everett, then laughed. Everett cocked a smile at the comment, finding a bit of the humour in it.

"Something like that Murphy. As I was heading towards you and Sarah's position, a squad of three came out from a side alley, and from the looks of how they was moving, they set to corner you. So with a knife in one hand and a pistol in the other, I leapt from the rooftops to engage them. I tell you, one of them had a good right hook." As Everett spoke, Murphy was busy kicking over the bodies, trying to see if the rebel leader was amongst them.

"He's not in this bunch. This is gonna be a fucking pain in the ass, isn't it?" He said to no one in particular.

"We knew this mission was never going to be easy from its point of conception; otherwise, where would be the fun in it?" Everett asked rhetorically with a smirk as he looked over a few of the bodies, trying to see if there was anything useful amongst the refuse.

"When this is over, we should probably see if we can't utilize this universe's weapons and armour for ourselves, try and find ways to better prepare for it in any future endeavours, since we're going to be here for the long haul." He then remarked as he stood up, stretching his arms to get some of the pain out of them from the scuffle outside.

"Let's find this fucker." Murphy said as he got into position by the door. Everett unholstered his M7S Submachine Gun and joined him.

"Too right, that and neutralize the AA weapons, we may need additional fire support."

The squeeze came quickly, as before. Through the door, they found themselves in long hallway. They moved swiftly and silently through the darkness. At the first door, Murphy signaled a freeze. He kicked open the door to be greeted with a janitor's closet. After clearing it, they moved on to the next door. Everett had the honor of kicking open that one. Inside was computer control room, empty.

Suddenly, a burst of fire erupted from the end of the hallway, sending the team scrambling for cover.

"Frag out!"

Murphy yelled as he rolled a grenade towards the shooter. It seemed to have effect on the rate of fire that was pouring down the hallway.

Sarah felt kinda stupid clearing a janitors closest, but it was necessary.

Next room; computer room, empty.

As they started for the next room they began taking fire from down the hall, and immediately returned fire as she ducked back into the computer lab as Murphy toss a grenade toward the shooter.

She waited for the explosion before poking back out leading with her rifle, no immediate sign of hostile, the grenade seemed to have done its job.

Nah, I'm still here, but keep in mind, it's kinda how Kenneth would be. Really quiet.

Kenneth cracked his neck as he wrapped his fingers around the wheel of the warthog. Slowly breathing in, he looked around. Simple mission, but anything could go wrong.

Hearing Quintus's statement, he readied himself for the go.

After the grenade went off everything got quiet. Murphy pulled a small bag from a pouch on his chest rig. From the bag he pulled a tiny camera attached to a small screen. Crawling up to the door, Murphy poked the camera out the door, keeping his body firmly behind the wall.

Seeing nothing on the screen, Murphy stood up and signaled that he was moving. Breaking cover and moving swiftly down the hall, he found the reason for the sudden quiet - parts of two of the rebels were scattered in the dark corner. Taking up position, he keyed his mic.

"Blue one, Blue two. Area clear."

He made a mental note to thoroughly disinfect his gear, as it was getting bloody already.

Murphy moved to Sarah and put his hand on her shoulder, giving a slight squeeze. With that, they were through the door.

"Up or Down?" Sarah's voice crackled over the comms.

"Down" replied Murphy.

They went down the stairs carefully to avoid getting caught in any booby traps. The stairs ended in a long, dark hallway, the only light coming from a bulb at the bottom of the stairs. Murphy quickly smashed out the bulb with the end his barrel, thrusting them into darkness. He activated his NVG's knowing that Sarah and Everett were doing the same. Murphy drifted to point, the darkness feeling as if it were engulfing them despite their night vision.

There were no doors in this hallway, simply concrete walls. The team moved silently, ready for something to jump out.

Murphy kept his cool, but couldn't help but be reminded of fighting the Flood the places like this.

Sarah flipped her visor over it's 'Low Light' setting and follow Murphy down the hall. In the darkness Sarah almost vanished, where it not for the white shoulders and red visor coloring. She didn't really like the lack of doors, if a fire fight broke out they where easy targets, and it reminded her of the Covenant base her first team had raided, some of the worst parts of that missions where in halls like this
