Yeah, and heroic is too annoying. Playing heroic mode alone isn't hard, but your gonna spent 2 hours on every mission if your not a halo veteran getting bitched to death by everything. Just because you can beat a game on a given difficulty doesn't mean its the most enjoyable way to do it.
Lol try solo legendary, good players are in for some 4 plus hour levels

He's going to tear the story to shreds. That's pretty much a given. He'll also probably say "just go watch my Halo 3 review while riding a jetpack."

I hope he mentions the post credits ending, though. I really think that was a huge leap forward in video game story telling, the rest of the story notwithstanding.

IMMEDIATELY SUCKS

That's Yahtzee 95 percent of the time for you.
Wow good point now that I think of it Yahtzee is extreme hipster.

I predict Yahtzee will be putting the finishing touches on his Halo Reach review, see this thread, become furious at people guessing on how he'll do his job, then immediately scrap it out of spite and write a different review for some old game he likes.

I once tried halo odst and after 30 mins i found the game boring and not very different from other generic FPSs.
Annnnnnd there's your problem. You need to play Halo: CE, Halo 2 and Reach. Also remember it was Halo that started the whole terrible regenerating health thing so they weren't exactly generic back in the day.

Now Halo 3 sucked (expletive deleted) but the first two and the last one are all relatively good games.

OT: Yahtzee will speak with a British accent.
I knew my post would have a giant target on it if i added my experiance in the halo series.

*sigh* I would try the older halos if my xbox hadn't red ringed while playing the first fable and after i got it fixed i have a fear of putting xbox games in (not 360 those are fine but fallout 3 and oblivion freeze all the time on me :( )

second: I work at hell-mart and wish to spend my money more wisely than on a game from a series where a i did not find a previous game fun.

The text gets in the way of the crosshair during multiplayer. For fucks sake, I was having a hard time in SWAT because the damn text covered up my reticle half the time.

Shallow, dull characters. Not enough time to get attached to any of them. Not as if we would have anyways. Kat is a crazy *****, Carter is average joe, Emile is vaguely racist stereotype, Jun is boring and Jorge, the only mildly likable one, doesn't stick around long enough for anyone to remember.

Regenerating Health

Short Campaign with no coherent structure.
Then again, since when has the Halo series been known for story?

Something about Fanboys, short campaign, doesn't care about multiplayer, etc
I hope he says something about not knowing who the hell is talking in a cutscene. There's like 6 dudes wearing full face masks, and I'm suppost to know who's telling me his dramatic and important character back story bit. Kinda skewed the story for me a bit.
I still dont know is Noble 6 is a mute or not.
He isn't. He talks a bit, and sounds kind of like Carter. Jorge sounds gruff and British, Kat has an accent, Jun's Asian (he's played by an Indian), Carter has a voice that sounds like he's been in other shooters, and Emile's just Black.

...I dont know which is which. I know that kat is the name of the one that
dies
but only because of these forums. For all I knew it could've been the same one talking out a conversation with several fake accents while the others stood there reacting at the perfect times as if it were choreographed very, very well.

What is there to predict? It will be like always, he will make a few jokes about the fanbase, list every single fault with the game and wrap that up with even more jokes.

I know. I couldn't tell at first if Noble Six was speaking or not. Pretty much all of Noble Team except for Jun
dies

Its Yahtzee...so I predict he will bash it into the ground despite how good things were this time around.

He shall destroy it. Most people didn't really enjoy the campaign but gave it high rating because of the awesome multiplayer. Since he doesn't play multiplayer, he'll undoubtedly write the game down as "over-rated" and then proceed to beat it with a stick.

He will ignore the multiplayer explaining how he has no friends so Multiplayer or firefight is boring.

Then he will go on how they all look generic, and how fanboys fawn over the game like men do a triple cunted hooker. He will go on to say how its melodramatic because ...of how it ends... and that the characters are not drawn out so they are not that likable. Everything he said about Halo three. He will also rant about how the promo movies where over dramatic and boring.

I will still watch and laugh even though I love Halo and Halo Reach.

He might say 'at least you were (practically) forced to dual-weild' because 'that was a gimmick' or such. Or, he might not. But he probably will say that feature was fanboyish, and might even stoop to saying the fact it's gone is actually a good thing in his oppinion.

He might say 'ooh look, each spartan is shiney and colour coded so you know which one plays which role, like a team of power-armoured Power Rangers' though I doubt I'm reading him right. He'll complain about the power armour-wearing A Mercenary Is You cliche, though.

He has absolutely nothing to complain about regarding one, simple little thing, though: Halo Reach is an FPS that has COLOUR. Pretty sure he hates that they're "All seasick green, excrement brown or gunmetal grey" (or something to that effect).

As for my review...

I for one hated the system for dual-weilding. Not the idea, just the system. Thought Red Faction 2 handled it the best. I liked how the Spartan team had colours other than the iconic green (not that I mind the image of Master Chief at all - Halo was my first FPS and it holds a special place in my mind). I liked that there was a mix of genders, too - the biggest problem I had with the anime dvd was that every time a Spartan took their helmet off... Shock! Suprise! It's a GIRL!

They did this THREE TIMES. Apart from Master Chief, the only guy Spartan was Spartan 1337 (yes, that's right) and Fred (?) from the Fall Of Reach novel tie-in.

So colour and doing away with the confusing two-weapons thing are its strong points, and I should give it a commendation for making the Sabre space fighter bit seriously good fun. The ending was really powerful, I'm actually glad that it was a sad ending from a narrative point, and then you get that bonus stage at the end, which was awesome. My brother walked in at that moment and was like "Woah, that's different." Good visual effects.

And the heat-seeking plasma cannons and multi-spray Warthog turrets were cool.

It's weak point I found was the sheer shortness of the campaign. The armour customisation is cool, though kinda pointless if the parts don't have much noticable effect, if at all, so that's another.

Overall though, I thought it was by far the best Halo in the series, at least the one I liked the most since I first played the original. The sequels didn't really add a whole lot, and I'm not too fussed about playing the other two games (ODST - I mean, were they even IN the main story at all? - and the RTS one). So the fact that it gives the series one hell of a send-off is cool, and I fully agree with what Bungie said in the spoiler on here... I actually read that first, figuring the ending couldn't be anything but sad yet heroic and awesome, and that's WHY I bought the game.

So there we go. Prediction and amateur review, 2 for 1 deal.

I would just like to point out that bashing a Halo game for being about armored space marines with regenerating health driving vehicles and fighting aliens is like bashing God of War for being a generic God of War-style action game.

There. Continue.

I still believe that Halo 2 had the best campaign.
Personally, best one of the seris has to be the orginal Halo. Just didn't like the dual wield mechanic
sorry, i meant in terms of the story. I'm not a big fan of the dual wielding either

Ugh....

Seriously, Why does the Escapist have such an embarrassing man-crush on Yahtzee? Why do you care what he says? Why can't you realize that what he says isn't even what he thinks? WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE WHAT HE THINKS IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

And to the people writing paragraph-long anylizations......Fucking really?

I mean....Really?

Just....why?
