I just picked up Halo 2. This is my first Halo game (save for Halo Wars, which is rts, so I'm not counting it), so I thought I'd see if the board could give me some tips, such as with weapons, maps and things I should never do. I should also point out that I'm a fps noob.

I'm also wondering, can I save xbox games to the 360 harddrive, or will I be needing an xbox memory card?

Bullets come out of the end of the weapon.

I find the best part of a game is to discover everything yourself.

You should probably get Halo 1 first. Seeing as then you won't care about the story or characters at all.

Well, you shoot at things you don't want near you, and don't shoot the things you like. AKA, the black man with the awesome voice...

You did the spoiler wrong.

Congratulations. You just ruined the end of Halo 3 for kawaiiamethist.

EDIT: Never mind, it seems you fixed it.
Yes. I did fix it. I'm quick like that.

This..If you're going to get into a new series, start at the beginning..And if all you really want is the multiplayer, 3 or ODST would make more sense.

The needlers are a very good pair of weapons. Don't doubt them. They're like the force. DO, or do not, there is not try. Those who know the weapon will be awesome will find that it is. But doubt them for a second and death shall be your reward. You must go all in, fight like William Wallace and you shall be unstoppable.

Oh, I thought this was about the same subject as the old Hero of the Internet about whether Master Chief is a virgin.

Anywho... I'd say Halo 2 is my favorite Halo trilogy game, ODST is better imo, but Halo 2 is great. Use the carbine a lot, it's my favorite weapon. Sniping is a really helpful in almost any situation.

Okay first of all, Spartans are inferior vermin, in multiplayer always be the elite.

Next up, if you are interested at all in story you should probably play Halo 1 first so you at least know who everyone is and where the next one left off.

Next, destroy the flood combat form's entire body. Don't just quit when you see it fall because in a few second it'll be back up on it's feet, use an energy sword and slice it to pieces.

Respect and fear the horror of the Jackal Sniper with equal measure.

Use vehicles often and whenever you get the opportunity, because there is never a moment more satisfying then blasting tiny enemies down with your mighty tank or banshee.

Finally even though they start you off with a specific weapon, do not think you have to hold onto said weapon. While it may be useful for a while there are rarely situations where the starting weapon must be with you at all times.

Use the plasmas! Haha, there's nothing more satisfying than seeing an Elite running around with a blue orb attached to his body =)

EB didn't have Halo 1, but I will be tracking it down. I'm not interested in multiplayer.

All the Halo games are pretty easy, so don't sweat. You'd probably want tos tart with Halo 1 though. The first three levels smoothly introduce you to pretty much all the weapons and how you use them and through out the game, more things are revealed like Tanks, Ghosts etc. By the time you've finished with Halo you'll know exactly how to take on any situation in Halo 2 but you'll have some new guns/techniques so you're free to experiement and learn some new stuff. Halo 3 takes this further.

But it's an FPS. All you need to do is shoot the guy in front of you, and if you have trouble with that then lower the difficulty. Halo 2 is hardly ARMA II or Operation: Flashpoint, you don't need advice to play it.

If playing on heroic or ledgendary never let an elite duck into cover because their sheilds heal quickly, which is part of what makes combat fun in 1-2. It forces you to push forward that instant or your progress is lost. So grenade then BR those elites.

Also like someone else said use the pink mist (needler) as they are an insta kill when used properly. And fear the jackal snipers, they will rape you on legendary.

This is what I was going to post, but when I tell people to start at the beginning of a series they throw a major bitchfit EG: "THE GRAPHICS ON PLAYSTATION SUCK THATS GAY".
Might not have posted for the same reason if it had been a different game. But Halo hasn't changed all that much from 1 to 3, and he's already gone pre-360 with 2, so...Whatever.
