Well, I have a 4 year old daughter who loves the show... so I get a smug "justified brony" badge. But seriously, there's nothing to be ashamed of.
It is better than 90% of animated shows out there, for kids and adults alike, purely on a production level: solid characters, involved dialogue, interesting plots, good lessons without talking down to the audience (too much), eye-catching and highly kinetic animation (that doesn't reach ADD/seizure inducing levels), catchy songs, and jokes that are acutally funny. I could personally do without a lot of the cheesines, but the show's not really made for me. It just saves me having to roll my eyes so far to the back of my head I risk disconnecting them, like every time I have to sit through Franklin, or Toupie and Binoo, or Care Bears, or Mike the Knight, or...
Also, nuh-uh, Rainbow Dash is the best.
