It's got transforming alien robots, a world made of metal, a bunch of explosions and the voice of Robert Cullen. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything sexier that wouldn't require a 'NSFW' label.Jandau said:Is it wrong that I am somewhat aroused by that trailer in the article?
you sir just made my day XDhyperdrachen said:Look I don't know what all this Jazz is about transformers puns, but as long as I can get in there and Hotrod around in vehicle mode in a Blur of explosions and lasers, I'll be happy. As long as the mechanics are solid I'll practice this game til I'm the Master Blaster, and you guys are all Slag. You won't know I'm there til you feal the Rumble of your teamate exploding. So you all may as well catch the next Astrotrain to Earth cause, you won't be able to stand against me in the Cybertronian Wars as I Ravage my enemies.
I didn't think cliffjumper was announced as playable...maybe DLC =(arc1991 said:im going to be Cliffjumping and Starscreaming all day when this comes out =D
EDIT: And i think Bay should hire this guy
Think i just jizzed =P
What, you mean making sure people are paying for server bandwidth? Doesn't bother me one bit, especially when it's not terribly expensive ($50 USD / year), and the service is pretty damn reliable most of the time. A lot of games even come with a free month of Gold access, so I really don't mind paying the extra few bux a month to use Netflix and get demos.Sonicron said:*paraphrased*
It's not really fair that the demo requires Gold membership.
Aside from MMOs I'll never stand for it. Besides, what irks me most is the fact that I'm expected to continually spend money on a game I've already bought, and once I've shelled out my money (which comes down to a converted cost of about 71 USD/year where I live) I have to tolerate the incessant prattling of thousands of prepubescent racists and xenophobes - you know, just to add insult to injury. I remember a time when I didn't have to pay extra to be able to play online and on dedicated servers... worked just fine if memory serves.CaptainCrunch said:What, you mean making sure people are paying for server bandwidth? Yeah that's Trypticon: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Trypticon_(G1) .Vinticore said:Looks like the Decepticons have got Mecha-Godzilla on their side...
This changes everything!
I guess it's kind of a tricky call, Wrench. As much as Transformers may well have turned into something funky or way-out-there back on Cybertron, they're just so stylistically linked with cars etc. that you might actually lose people if you try and diverge from it.JEBWrench said:Wait, why are they transforming into motor vehicles? I thought that was only what happened when they came to earth?
Regardless, Team Fortress with Transformers?
Yes, please.
Note also that if you squint, Bumblebee's alt mode looks a little like a light cycle.SAMAS said:Note the Tron Lines [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TronLines] on Bumblebee and Optimus.chozo_hybrid said:How is it plus Tron?SAMAS said:G1 + Movie + Tron, it seems.

For argument's sake, take Megatron from the new movies. For all the get-over-itting I did when I read rants about how none of the movie TFs looked like, y'know, Transformers, I couldn't help but think the nay-sayers had a point when it came to Megatron. I couldn't see the the jet (or tank, when RotF rolled around) in Megatron when he was in his primary mode.
So while keeping Prime, Bumblebee et. al. as motor vehicles might stretch credibility, it still gives them recognisable "vehicle bits" that mark them out as Transformers and not just a generic giant robot.
And as to your second point: TeamFortress... TransFormers... Kinda similar, eh? Can Ironhide rocket-jump? Is Bumblebee really a force-a-nature? And will we be waiting forever for the "Meet the Ratchet" trailer?
But I guess Transformers without transforming would be generic shooter #3486712590768967089758765209.
I do thoroughly support the idea of this game though. So it's probably going to suck. Because anything I look forward to often does.
Well, you'll have a chance to find out in a few days, when the demo hits XBL.JEBWrench said:I do thoroughly support the idea of this game though. So it's probably going to suck. Because anything I look forward to often does.
That's because it is the Unreal Engine. The thing is, it should work more than well for this game... people are always complaining how things look too gleaming, shiny and polished in games that make use of this engine, but in this case we're dealing with characters and an environment constructed entirely from metal - if that isn't a perfect fit, then what is?Darktau said:That was just SCREAMING unreal engine, still looks cool though.
