I like walking.
I like to give and do things to/for people without expecting anything in return.
Taking what people give me.
Good music. Bad music with a catchy tune.

I was an elitist greedy annoying bastard. I like to think I'm turning that around.

I think that happiness is brought by a true emotional connection to other people. You have to have enough material goods and such to survive, but beyond that- only other people can bring real happiness.

The lack of stress makes me happy. There's no better feeling in the world than having no problems.

On topic: Happiness is a mindset, it's about perspective. When I'm depressed nothing can make me happy, but when I'm not anything I enjoy (by definition) makes me happy.
Also this. Basically, being happy makes me happy. It's a vicious circle.

As cheesy as this may sound:

Just laying in the grass, enjoying the night sky with that special someone. That usually does it for me.

Having good relationships with friends is always good, and is what I think is true happiness.

Success is the thing that always brings me happiness. Failure, on the other hand, brings me depression.

Happiness is ignorance.

You'll never meet a person quite as happy as someone who doesn't know that at any given moment the entire planet could explode for some unknown reason. The person who doesn't know that we're killing the planet and that he could have 'been more' is happy. The less aware the creature, the happier they'll appear to be. Hell, the happiest creatures on the planet don't even know what happiness is.

Adam and StEve. When were they most happy? Well, when they were ignorant of knowledge. Once they ate the apple they were out on their asses and miserable.

People will say certain things or certain connections will bring happiness - no, not really. You will always have something troubling you if you're aware of it. You can never achieve true happiness as long as you're aware that true happiness is something you have to achieve. Who do you think is more happy? You with all of your bills and your money and your family and your past and your future and your responsibilities, or your dog and his shiny bouncy ball? That dog pretty much has you beat. He doesn't have the responsibilities or the feelings or the pain you have to go through, because he doesn't know he can have them.

The more knowledgeable you are the more depressed you'll probably be.

A lot of you are describing places or people or connections as true happiness - this cannot be the case if you're aware that there could be something better. Eventually the little nagging feeling of, "This is nice but that's better" will get you. It's why humans strive the way we do. We strive for the house by the sea and the financial stability and the 2.5 kids and those pretty pants and that new game and when we have them we want more. As long as there's want we can never really be happy.

Happiness is a temporary chemical imbalance. That is all.
You don't actually have the right to make this statement without being able to tell me what kind of chemicals and where this 'imbalance' in the brain takes place.

Thanks for playing the game, though! Your special hat will be mailed to you in 2-4 weeks.

Scientifically demonstrated that altruism, friendship, and religious practices bring happiness. So, I'm going with that.
