Hardest Resident Evil Game

The first one I think was the hardest because ammo was scarce, there wasn't a lot of saving points and when you did die you would have to start over again, and the first Resident Evil games weren't really a game for aiming.

Actually if you knew what to do, ammo was plentiful in RE1 and you would get bogged down by the sheer amount of it.

I remember on my 3-4th playthrough on the DS and I had shit-tons of ammo coming out the wazoo.

Yeah once you know which ones to kill and which ones to run past, ammo isn't a concern. However, getting to that point takes a few playthroughs. I blew through RE4 my first time playing it; I had to stop and restart RE1 four times before I got the hang of what to do. I give the edge to RE1 over any of the other original RE games. Ammo was plentiful in RE2 and certainly RE3 even without knowing what to do. And RE0 had two characters so hallways full of zombies didn't stand a chance.
