No, I disagree, CoD hasn't ruined the FPS experience. Why you ask? Because CoD is to shooters as what World of Warcraft is to MMOs. They found a formula that works for them and they are sticking to it. Why reinvent the wheel if you created it in the first place? Blame other companies who are trying to be CoD, CoD isn't at fault, it's the laziness of other developers who are trying to grab a piece of the CoD pie and won't go their own way because they are afraid of failure.
I also really don't know why people complain that much about CoD making no progress, they've added decent new sections to the FPS experience with each game (excluding BOPs). I honestly don't know where gamers expect the game to go. Most shooters are grab gun, see enemy, shoot enemy, reload. Give credit to the genre for adding various elements to actually flesh out a rather simple formula.
