During my senior year, the school group I was in was promised $400 each for a Washington DC trip. Then they said we had to write and present an essay to a Senator(which we couldn't do), then they lowered the money down to $300. After that, they got rid of it all together claiming the group we were in didn't have the funds. Mind you, this was after the person in charge of the group took a school funded trip for a educational conference vacation.

To the school's credit though, the administration stepped in and forced the head of our group to pay. They figured if the sports teams should get their funding for all the travel they do, so should the career oriented group I was in.

Also they once charged me $40 for a small piece of damage on a textbook published in 1990. The damage was there when I got it in 2009. For some reason they marked it as "brand new"

During high school me and a bunch of my friends used to play games on the Library's computers after school, things like Counter-Strike and Unreal Tournament and it KICKED ASS. Unfortunately the school Librarian made it so that we would get suspended if we even tried to do it again.

Also right before I graduated from high school the school staff forced us to attend practice for a stupid song that we had to sing during the graduation ceremony. It was that song where they sing, "Don't stop believing." I HATED that song. I didn't mind other preparations that we had to do for the ceremony but the song practice was stupid as hell.

We're undergoing one related to a nation wide problem right now. We've got absolutely no funding for classes, so every single one of my classes has upwards of 30 kids. The District Office is shifting everyone's schedules around to make it look better, but everything's just getting more fucked.

To top it off, there's a rumor the office is getting new iPads -.-

Well the my school never did anything but the whole SA education department did. They changed the SACE program (year 12 completion certificate) so that rather than students doing 5 subjects they do 4 and a completely useless 'research project'. They also have to do certain subjects now in order to get an ATAR (it's a score that gets you into university courses) rather than just having to complete everything. I was lucky and finished the year before they changed everything.

Mine just cut the Marching Band. There were 117 of us in it. We actually won stuff. Our football team got funding and they just lost their first game 20-70. Fucking hate how they diminished our awesome music program.

Uh what? Are you telling me you went to high school for more then 4 years because someone lost your papers?
They didn't lose them, they refused to give them to me, and I had to start over because I was left with no other choice.

Wow. That is a dick move.

Please, elaborate further.
Well I still owe them some money that I can't really pay, so they held the documents but regardless of this I asked around, and I've been informed that it is illegal to hold on to documents like that, but regardless that's just plain bad, it's not like it was my fault that my father couldn't afford the school and I had to drop out, it's kind of a complicated situation I think but I think I have every right to be mad about it.
Also sorry if that was incoherent I haven't had any sleep for 3 days now, I've been really busy.

They've changed the curriculum for primary schools (dunno about high schools) over here in New Zealand to tie in with the Rugby World cup. They've also changed the timing of the holidays to fit in with the finals. Well done, board of Education, now even kids who hate the sport get it shoved down their throats. Thank Christ I finished high school years ago.

I hate sport.

one of my elementary schools had it's principal quit and they called in some new transfer from god knows where. on top of making the school policies in general a draconian clusterfuck, he instated a policy he referred to as "theraputic holding"

what that entails, is if you misbehave in class(which by the school rules can be as little as looking at a teacher funny) then you will be yanked out of your seat and physically pinned down onto the ground by the teacher's aides(2 per class minimum)

i can't tell you how many times i had a fat ass 250 pound ***** literally sitting on me, a 9 year old ELEMENTARY SCHOOL student

good old backward-assed kentucky education system

PS: i bit the shit out out of the ***** one day after she put her arm too close to my face, they called in my mom and went off on her, then she slapped the shit out of the principal when she found out WHY i bit the *****. needless to say she pulled me out of that shit-hole

The engineering department here in my town is having its budget cut badly. Classes that used to be able to build cool stuff for their projects can now only afford the paper for printing the designs (i.e. no building anything whatsoever).

The engineering department is losing its best features, while the football department, which has had NO PROBLEMS gets another million so they can order up all the expensive food and bling they don't need!! >.<

I'm just glad this is my (hopefully) final semester at the university, lest I find myself crammed in only one available classroom because the budget gets cut to like $10/semester.

The most notable would have to be trying to fit 2 busloads of seniors and juniors onto a single bus. Their excuse? The buses are designed to be 3 to a seat. Turns out it's 3 to a seat for KINDERGARTNERS. Injuries and multiple detentions handed out because the almost adults who signed up for a special school program were loaded into a bus they couldn't possibly fit into. When we voiced our complaints some guy nobody knew came on and basically told us to shut up and stop complaining. Eventually they caved and got 2 buses thanks to somebody with half a brain being able to notice what was actually happening.

What about yours? Did you ever want to set the board of governors on fire?
EDIT: The one hour is made of 20 minutes break and 40 minutes lunch.
That's the length of time I've had ever since I started school...

If you don't come in correct school uniform mine makes you wear "spare" clothes.

well my school is alright, but its graciously under funded. Its surrounded by a fuckton of private schools so we get all the dropkicks and poor average-smart kids (I fit in the latter column). Also, the younger years have no respect for authority or the older years, and the year 9's have been quite promiscuous since their year 7 (first year...).

The private schools all think we all are theives/sluts/douchebags/Soon-to-be-murderers/dole suckers/anyotherwayyoucaninsultapersoninalowersocioeconomicstancethanyou.

Basically, the Department of education has screwed us over, and private school kids are dicks.

I once grew a pretty badass beard and moustache. They made me shave it off. I had prided myself on it and many many many people said it suited me. The School's motto is "Where the individual counts" and the facial hair made me one hell of an indivudual.

I grew it back over the holiday and this time it was a goatee. They let me keep it this time. It's still with me now that I'm going off to colledge

Yep. My high school cut half the art and music classes, laid off some student-favorite teachers, citing economic woes, and then three months later spent $70,000 to install an electronic signboard outside that would display events and the games being played by our shitty sports teams.

Incidentally, according to that annoying-but-frequently-correct TV creature Jamie Oliver, $70,000 is more than enough money to train an entire district's worth of cafeteria cooks in the art of cooking actual food and not reheating frozen shit from a warehouse in Nebraska. So really, it was a double dick move.

Suspended for fighting in 7th grade, I was punching a bully in the stomach while he had me lifted off the ground by my throat and pinned against a locker. I was told the proper procedure was to put my hands up and say "no, stop, i don't want to fight you and walk away" sort of an impossible thing to do in my position.

Also took mechanical engineering for 3 years in high school only to get to senior year and find the senior course was cancelled due to low turnout...
