Anybody played a game with a control scheme that you couldn't stand?
My hated scheme is the "Tank", where left and right just turns your character on the spot. Onimusha 2 for me showed the scheme at its worst, as having to turn before moving out of the way of an attack was just awkward.

Too Human, worst controls ever...and they copied it from Death By Degrees

EDIT: I disagree with myself. The UFC game had the worst controls of all time. having to manouver the analog in wierd ways that pretty much never work is no fun.

Trying to play Metal Gear 3 and 4 after being away for a while makes it very difficult to react quickly. The controls are very complicated and take some getting used to.

Incoming PC fanboys saying "FPSs on consoles"...

Controlling vehicles in games that aren't racing games. My first thought is the hated crane in Half-Life 2. And come to think of it, all the vehicles in Half-Life 2.

Dead Space on PC.

I god damn hated that aiming system with all of my heart, so much so I couldn't get past the first level.

Final Fantasy XI on the PC. You could change it so it played more logically, but the game was still awkward to play.

Prototype's vehicle controls, the logic behind it made you think, what on earth were they thinking?!

Resident Evil 4's control scheme wasn't that big of an issue for me, but aiming by holding R1 and shooting with X felt sort of awkward due to my left-handedness. Good game, though.

Thank god! I thought I was just imagining things. I had that game for one day, spent more time looking for a way to fix the controls than playing.

Also, any bad port. PCS HAVE MICE, USE THEM!

Yeah, the PS2 control scheme was a bit awkward. The Gamecube one was better by my recollection, but maybe that's just me.

You won't get any of that for me; console FPSes just take some getting used to as long as the controller sensitivity isn't too bad. I remember Metroid Prime having pretty excellent controls.

Vehicle controls on a PC game are kinda awkward, though. And as much as I like Half-Life, I have to agree, it was (and still is sometimes) hard to steer. You either go straight, hard left or hard right. It's an especially annoying problem if all you want is a small adjustment, or to do a long gentle turn.

UFC... the controls for working your ground game were just too difficult. I mean, really, why would we want to half turn the analog, quarter turn back, and say five hail mary's just to get into a side mount?

The original Tomb Raider. It had the most unintuitive, clunky, unresponsive controls I've ever attempted to put up with. Runner-up would be Lost Planet. Fun game, but I hate the aiming system with its, er, floaty - I guess? - aiming.

Aww, that sucks. Dead Space is a great experience, I hope you got to play it on a console.
That's why I originally bought the game, a friend of mine was playing it on his PS3.

I'd say the port was worse than the Saint's Row 2 one, but that was less a case of effort, and more SR2 being a better game by such an extent that it almost made up for it. Plus I didn't pay £20 for SR2.

The controls for Dreamfall were pretty awkward at first. I was used to the point-and-click interface from The Longest Journey, and the 3rd person action-adventure style of Dreamfall was much too different. Got used to it in the end though, but I hope that Funcom can at least make it more streamlined for Chapters...

from a PC I would have to say sadly, GTA III,vice city, san

my problem wasn't really with the aiming but rather than the interactions with the keyboard.

GTA III and vice city were bearable to play partly because it had less features and there wasnt really much keyst that needed to be used however San Andreas changed that all.

I did try and use a controller to help me over come these problems but it was far more worse for San Andreas again because the PC port did not fully support any controllers which left me 4 hours of trying to configure it with an third-party program which in the the end I couldn't be bothered, had better games to play.

I found it was the camera angles that where more the problem, in MGS 1 and 3 anyway, never played the others, or intend to

I've heard a lot of good things about SR2 recently, I may have to check that bad boy out.
As much as it pains me to say it, get it, and get it on console (I hear 360 version is the best).

It's a great game, only ruined by the terrible port which makes any settings above lowest almost unplayable. (I did hear that it was a separate company that did the port, who were thankfully removed before the next game came out. RF:G's port is a massive improvement, though it does suffer from that problem of telling me the menu controls at all times. I KNOW IT'S CLICK/ENTER TO ACCEPT.)

Hm.
I actually haven't had any issues...
Any time I'm not content with the control schemes I change them, for both PC and Console...
Unless the console version doesn't have a preset I like...
At first Battlefield 1943 kind of confused me but I changed the air controls and got used to the rest...
So still a resounding no.
