Have PS4, get Xb1 next or Wii U?

I'll add my voice the the chorus. Get the Wii U, if it interests you. You'll get a lot of games that you can't get on the other systems with a different play style. You'd literally be buying a system for two or three games. That isn't exactly a smart investment.

Get neither. Save that up and be patient and it'll payoff. Nintendo are already at work on their next home console (NX or something it's called atm). If you wait around a bit then at the very least Wii U will dive in price and you'll be able to get all the Wii U classics like Mario Kart 8, Sonic Boom... well it's a classic in its own right... anyway you can get them cheap. win win/

By that time, the PS5 will probably be right around the corner. And then the question will be: "PS5, Wii U, NX, or [whatever the hell horrible name Microsoft gives the next system]?"

Get whichever console you'll have most friends on. There's little point buying an Xbox if most of your friends own a Wii and vice versa. It's not really about having the 'best' platform, it's about having the best time, and that's what friends are for.

Oh, and if you do get a Xbox One really, really, really invest in a decent external, ~4TB or so. The 500GB harddrive it ships with just doesn't cut the mustard, especially when the operating systems take that 500GB down to ~340GB before you've done so much as so much as plugged the thing in.

I'm about done with gaming PCs. Yes I do think it's the best platform to be honest, but after years of having really good, high end systems, [I'm] sick of the constant upgrading and pissing about in order to keep up (yeah I was one of THOSE pc people who need the latest hardware for no good reason, can't help it)

That's not really any worse than having two consoles that pretty much duplicate what the other does except for a handful of exclusives. I'd skip the XBone. Get a Wii-U, as Nintendo do quite a lot of exclusives and generally try to make their platform unique.

And don't give up on the PC, just try to avoid pretty games like Bioshock Infinite that will lead you on the path of temptation. There are lots of PC exclusive games and that keyboard + mouse makes a lot of genres fun to play. The fact that you can get really good graphics if you spend like Montgomery Brewster is not actually very important.

I got the WiiU and PS4 hardly got any games for either of them but the WiiU was worth the purchase for Bayonetta 2 alone for me which is good as that and the upcoming Xenoblade were the only reason I got one.

Smash is ok and Shantae and the Pirates Curse is unexpectedly brilliant for what it is but apart from that I dont think there is much elese or going to be much else since Nintendo have unofficially sounded the death bell for it although im hoping the new project zero comes out over here.

As for the Xbox One there really is little difference between it and the PS4 now except I feel the PS4 will have better exclusives simply because it has a stronger worldwide presence could be wrong though MS has a lot of cash so they could get any game exclusive if they really wanted but as of now the only exclusive that interests me in the slightest is Killer Instinct and while I like the game I have issues with the way they are developing it and pricing it as well as some animations and aesthetics.

So yeah I would (and did) go WiiU personally did not regret it but maybe its not for you.

It's "That Guy" time, get a PC instead.
If it's more games you want, you'll get gajillions, won't have to pay for online play, can choose which controller you want, get games dirt cheap, (slightly) less screaming children, tons of free games, 1080p and 60fps with same or higher settings for the price of a console or slightly more, you don't have to pay to play your own games online using your own internet, upgrade at your leisure without having to wait 8 years for a graphical upgrade that you again have to pay full price for (just up the GPU most of the time), and the list goes on and on.
It's cheaper too, though not always in the initial cost, 5 games later and you'll have saved.

Wii U. Most of the games you'd be able to get on the XB1 can be found on the PS4 as well, whereas the Wii U is the only system with games like Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3...
Actually, of the three, I think the Wii U has the best exclusives so far.

The Wii-U. With the Xbox One hurting in the competition, Microsoft has shown its willing to return to its roots as a PC publisher. Purchasing an Xbox One is not in your best interests as a consumer.

I'm very nearly sold on Wii U.
It's wierd, when the U was released I was all over it and wanted one... Then I forgot all about... Now I've got one of "the big two" consoles and that's out of the way, I've got a craving for nintendos offering again lol.

The social side of it isn't an issue, some people I know on ps4, some on Xbone... Probably none on Wii u , which is good I suppose because often I just want everyone to piss off while I'm gaming lol (I see enough of them at work etc)

I tried to get a demo on the new 3ds today but the store demo unit had no charge so I'll take another look at it tomorrow after work.

Just curious on this one... Of those of you who DO have xb1+kinect, how much do you actually use all the "xbox record that" stuff? I think the idea of plugging my sat receiver into it, is probably more appealing than the reality.

Personally I'd say go for the Wii U. The PS4 and Xbone are similar apart from a very small pool of exclusives, and out of the Xbone exclusives I hear Killer Instinct is the only good one right now. The Wii U is unique and separate, has quite a few exclusives with more to come, has backwards compatibility so you don't have to re-purchase what you already have, AND it has the Virtual Console to give you a ton of games that aren't in print anymore.

If you have a PS4 there really is no point in getting an Xbox One, since most of the games coming out for the system will be on the PS4 as well. So I'd suggest going with the Wii U, a PS4/Wii U combo will provide much more variety than PS4/Xbone would.

The Wii U has been building up a unique and fun library over the last year so I highly recommend it, it's definitely my favorite console of the current generation.

Get a Wii U. It has a lot more exclusives than the Xbone. Honestly, there aren't enough quality exclusives on PS4 or Xbone to justify owning both yet (IMO). You'd be stuck with having maybe 2-3 games on one of them while the other gets all of the third party stuff.

I'm currently only on PC, but if I were to get a console, it would be a Wii U since it's the only one with enough games that I can't already get.

As an owner of an Xbox One based on everything that is available thus far, get a Wii U or a new 3DS. The MCC is still a mess in many regards, and I am have not played more than one 3v3 to completion. Granted my current internet setup is a little quirky, but I was still able to play the Halo 5 Beta without any issues. On that note Halo 5 did not do anything for me, it feels like much of the gameplay that made the series unique is being eroded by a checklist of 'modern' features. In Halo 4 it was loadouts and killstreaks, in Halo 5 it is aim down sights, sprint, and other 'mobility' based abilities that don't actually make players more mobile.

I was never a huge fan of Gears, though I did enjoy it, but I have heard many Gears fans have taken issues with what Judgement did with the series. Outside of those two franchises there is not a whole lot on X1 that you cannot find something comparable on any other platforms.

Other than that the whole UI feels like a step backward from the 360, I don't know how the PS4 has improved from the PS3 interface, but it doesn't feel like the X1 took many of the 360's lessons to heart. On top of all that the right trigger controller that came with the console I got in January did not even make through all 4 Halo campaigns before it lost some of its functionality.

Perhaps I am just very unlucky, but as someone who got a lot of use out of their 360, there is not a lot I can reccomend about the X1 so far.

You're supposed to say "Xbox Record that", "Xbox home", "Xbox go to Apps" (no, really), but in my experience the thing barely registers me talking. Seems to understand my Dad when he does Xbox stuff so maybe it's just me. Before it will listen to you, you need to do a test anyway which requires you to use the Kinect to "officially" close the tutorial. To be honest I try to avoid the thing because I still have a bit of a antagonistic relationship with cameras and the like.

By the way, I don't think you can turn the camera/Kinect off with voice commands.

Still, the Kinect isn't as creepy as the Wii U's "photo-Miis" which are officially the most horrifying thing I've ever seen.

That's rather interesting... Seems nobody, except my early adopter friends who brought day one xb1s back home, think it would be worth getting one lol

Hmm... Second person this week who's said kinect often shits the bed and dies. Everyone else sort of skirts around the question.

I'm not at my ps4 now but I got like - PS button>scroll to "adjust devices">scroll to dualshock 4>off
