Not including gifts, have you ever bought a game multiple times?

It has happened to me a few times for different reasons...

Bought Mirror's Edge on the Xbox360 and on the PC (when it was on Steam sale). Because my XBox broke down and I wanted to play the game again.

Also bought Alan Wake for the Xbox360 and PC (when it was on Steam sale). Never got a chance to play the DLC's and during the steam sale I got both games and all DLC's for the price of half a game. That was a good deal.

And bought Guilty Gear XX on the PC (while I had it on the Xbox36), just because I couldn't resist it for 5 bucks.

Bought Neverwinter Nights 2 twice because the second time I got it for free with the expansion.

Also bought Baldur's Gate 2 twice because the second time I got my hands on the limited edition, very cheap.

Bought Diablo II twice for multiplayer and bought World of Warcraft 2 times to have 2 accounts.

Bought Final Fantasy VII for the PC again, because I regret selling it.

Finally, bought a few indie games multiple times because they were including in indie bundles, while I already had those games.

And I am probably planning on buying a few old games I already own on GoG, because the GoG version has Windows 7 support.

UMVC3 since I had the most bizzare bug where Phoenix Wright's Turnabout Mode switch would cause the game to crash 80% of the time.

I also bought L4D twice because I "lost" it. I have my suspicions of a former friend who probably stole it though. I never just lose games.

I preordered P4A twice, as if ordering, canceling the order then reordering it again the next day would make it come out faster... So October 26th now is it? Oh Atlus you complete retards! One day you'll figure out how to import a game across the pond where you literally don't have to change a single thing.

Baby steps though, at least it's not going to be the same as Catherine where it didn't come out within the same year as the NA release. Good times

I must of bought and sold some of the Metroid Prime games at least three times.
Right now I have them and I plan to keep it that way, but you never know.

I bought Morrowind many years ago. A few years back, after finally getting a computer good enough to play Oblivion, I played that for a while, but that only gave me a huge desire to play Morrowind again. Unfortunately, the main Morrowind disk was cracked and the game couldn't be installed from it. So I ran to a store that, believe it or not, actually had several new copies of Morrowind GOTY edition. So I snatched one up so I could play the excellence that is Morrowind. It was so worth it.

I bought the Baldur's Gate series twice. The second times was from GOG since I wanted a digital backup and it was cheap. Also its damn near impossible to find throne of bhaal on its own in a store.
Oblivion I bought twice because it cheaper to get the GOTY version than it was to get just shivering isle by itself and it came with the other dlc which was a nice bonus tho I wouldn?t have bought them on their own.
Same thing happened with DA:O and the awakening expansion.

I own a PS3 and 360 version of the following games:

Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops. I got the CoD games twice because it was a sale. Buy Black Ops and get MW2 for free. Couldn't resist.

Only three come to mind; MediEvil, Grim Fandango and Resident Evil 5.
I bought MediEvil again because it was on PSN and it's my favourite game of all time so why not play it with a controller I prefer more.
Grim Fandango was reclaimed after a case where my original copy got sold off on Ebay some time ago. Was delighted to get ahold of it again! I already had Resident Evil 5 on the PC but I decided to go for a PS3 port because I figured it'd be great to play on splitscreen on the rare occasion that I have friends over.

I own three copies of Baldur's Gate. The original box, which is awesome and sits proudly on my shelf, and then two special editions. I bought the second edition after I'd thought I lost my Throne of Bhall disk, turns out I hadn't so now I've got three copies of BG2 and two copies of its expansion Throne of Bhall.

Worth every penny. I'm thinking about picking up a copy from GOG and it's inevitable I'll also buy the 'Enhanced Editions', which if they count will probably bring my copy of owned versions of the game to around five later on.

Other than that though... nope, can't think of any unless you could games I own online and a boxed copy like Thief or Heroes of Might & Magic.

Other than that nothing since the Commodore 64 days

Mass Effect on XBox 360, then PC. Street Fighter IV on XBox 360, then PC. Knights of the Old Republic on PC twice (lost the CDs in a move). Oblivion on XBox 360 and then on PC. The Force Unleashed, Xbox 360 then PC.

Can you tell that my XBox isn't really getting much use anymore? If I could get Rock Band on PC, I'd probably get rid of it.

I bought L4D2 twice, only because I asked a parent if they could buy it for PC while I was gone and they bought it for Xbox.

I bought new copies of FFVII and IX because I played the discs to death and a new copy of VIII because my cousin lost disc 3. I should really get my non-platinum discs resurfaced now that I think about it.

I've traded in and repurchased the Sly Cooper series multiple times including The Sly Collection.

Resident Evil for Gamecube and Wii.

Psychonauts once on Steam, once on Xbox Live, and once as part of a Humble Indie Bundle.

Limbo once on XBLA, and once in a Humble Indie Bundle.

Braid on XBLA, and then as part of two different Humble Indie Bundles.

I've bought GTA 4 twice, because I bought it cheap for retail, then the entire GTA series for CHEAPER than the retail GTA 4 off of Steam. Aside from that, I've bought two copies of Red Orchestra 2, but that's because I bought one for a friend. Same friend that I did the same thing with Killing Floor for. I don't think I've done it for anything else...

Mostly older stuff that made all me all nostalgic:

FF7 (PC then PS)
FF8 Bwahaha, yeah right.
FF9
FFT
Legends of Dragoon (which features the best quote ever: "Shut up. Talking makes you die.")
Pokemon Crystal (and only Crystal)

All except FF7 were because I had gotten them as a child and couldn't really appreciate them until I was an adult... and FF7 because listening to the music gets me all nostalgic. Note: this was all back when I still had a lot of disposable income AND before PS1 games were being sold for more money than brand new games.

Got the original Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the PS3 and when I got a 360 I got the Game of the Year/ Ultimate editions because I wanted to try out the DLCs. Also, to compare the systems.
