Of Course it's called Steam, easier to pay 2.50 or even 19.99 for a game, than to find the CDs or be bothered with it. I have lost Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 Alot but now i have copies i won't lose online and in Retail :D. Some games i can keep forever, some i lose, but blizzard games seem to always disappear!

Street Fighter 2 for SNES. M. Bison used to cause me horrible rage fits that destroyed a cartridge or two.

I've bought Final Fantasy tactics for every console it's been released on.
I bought Mass Effect 2 a second time to finish it with a second character so I could import him.
I bought Oblivion a second time because I remembered having a lot of fun with it and it was a dirt cheap game of the year edition. I'm thinking of doing the same with Fallout 3.

Halo 3 is the only one that I've bought that I had to buy again and that was because the disk I bought had laser burn. Games that my brother and I have had to re-buy because our little brother is an idiot include: Ratchet & Clank, R&C Going Commando, Jak 3, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. There are several others that he sold as well that I plan to re-buy when I have money.

I think the only game I've bought twice is X-COM. I got it once in the 90's and again on GoG a couple years ago.

Six copies of Mass Effect 1. First I got with the console, second I bought because the first got a crack in the disc. The third copy was for the PC and the fourth was was the Classics Edition so I could have a hardcopy of Bring Down the Sky for the 360. Fifth came the Games on Demand version and lastly I got the Limited Edition version from eBay.

I've bought both Mass Effect 2 and 3 for both the 360 and PC as well.

Dragon Age: Origins I bought for the PC and 360, I also bought the Awakening expansion, then I bought the Ultimate Editions for those platforms as well.

TF2 and Portal are both games which I got as part of The Orange Box on the 360, then later picked up on Steam. Apart from that though, no, not really.

I've done this to a good few games. I've bought A Boy and His Blob twice when I started missing it.

Oh, I bought Company of Heroes three times. Two times as a hard copy in a box (I lost my first one), and the third time as a part of a Steam collection.

Sold my PS3-copy of The Darkness, eventually grew to regret it and bought a secondhand copy, this time for 360.

I have Star Wars: Republic Commando twice. One the regular game for pc, the second as part of the Star Wars: Best of PC collection.

Also bought a second Half-Life and Opposing Force as part of the HL: Generation collection after the first copies got scratched/lost. And I have HL2 and HL2E1 on Steam and as part of The Orange Box on PS3.

I already have Okami on PS2, but I will be buying the HD version on release.

Thanks to a shipping error I have paid for two copies of Borderlands 2... It'll be like a month before I get a refund on one of them. Thanks amazon.

Twice.

The first time was when I lost my copy of Final Fantasy X. To this day I have no clue as to where it went, but I only lost the disc itself and still had the case. Luckily this was in early 2003 and I got a second copy from EBGames (not GameStop yet!) for dirt cheap.

Portal 2 was the other one. I bought it for 360 at launch and traded it in that summer. Then I bought it again for PC on a Steam sale much later when they announced the Steam Workshop would be available for the game. I heart user-created content.

I got oblivion on both the PC and the 360

i bought dragon age origins when it first came out, then later bought the ultimate edition

I bought champions of norrath for the PS2 twice, because I thought with such glowing reviews, I must have missed something my first time with the game, having hated it and traded it in.

I bought Radiata Stories for the PS2 a total of 3 times, due to a comedy of errors involving a clumsy father and 2 scratched discs

I bought onimusha 3 twice, because I traded it in with almost all my PS2 stuff to retain my "broke as fuck" status while still enjoying a 360, but it was on sale with a closing video rental store and I just had to buy it.

I think that covers my redundant purchases, not counting humble bundles, which occasionally overlap with games I've already purchased, such as braid

I bought Zeus and Roller coaster tycoon multiple times. They were just too good to stop playing.

Devil May Cry 3
Half Life 2
MGS4
GTAIV
Metal Gear Solid (technically. Bought the Twin Snakes, then later bought the classic for Ps3)

I think that's all I've bought twice...

I've bought Resident Evil 5 and MGS4 3 times each now because I keep trading them in, regretting my decision and regetting them to play with a friend.

If only I wasn't so bloody poor!

Can't see someone buying Alan Wake again, that was crap in my opinion!

First game I bought twice was Diablo 2. At the time I didn't know there was an expansion, so when I saw a copy of D2 and the expansion with a strategy guide for 12 bucks at a Goodwill, I couldn't resist.

I also bought FF7 from the PSN store. I have the original black label copy, but the first disk got loose and when I opened the case, it got stuck in the hinge and put a fairly substantial scratch in it. It only affects the part of the game after the world's most popular spoiler. When the prompt for disk two came up, I'd have to put that in, go to the next room and wait for it to load and then put in disk one. Later, after finishing the zone, I'd put in disk 2 and continue. The digital copy let me play without switching.

I also bought FF6 through the FF5/6 bundle even though I have it for SNES. But my SNES doesn't work.

And I bought two copies of City of Heroes to have two accounts. Godspeed, CoH. For truly, with your passing, you will finally have "Gone to the Americans" (inside CoH Joke)

Yes. I think I've bought, sold, and then repurchased Katamari Damacy about 3 times. I think I'll keep this copy. Also, I've had to purchase audiosurf more than once. Totally worth it.
