Whenever I would go to get Epona in Ocarina of Time, the guy closes the gate to get out and the jump is a little tricky to make, so I would always just jump over the outer wall into Hyrule Field.

Also in Ocarina of Time, I don't know if it's really tricking the game, but I would always get the Biggoron Sword as soon as I became an adult. I consider it tricking it because the game kind of makes it seem like you shouldn't be able to, but I always could.
I wouldn't say the game didn't want you to, after you become an adult and especially after you get Epona, the game becomes pretty sandboxy after that. The only thing hindering you is what tools you don't have, and even then that's rarely an issue.

OT: I know I have, but I can't name a game that I've done it with for some reason...

Running in circles during the Robert DeSable fight (and the fights afterwards) in Assassin's Creed is a good way to fool the enemy AI while regaining health if you're low, they run in a circle after you instead of cutting across.

There are a few battles in Metroid Prime where you can get yourself wedged in places you're almost impossible to hit, like the Thardus (on the rocks by the big metal brackets) and Omega Pirate (a ledge high on the wall on the left side) battles.

Have two people circle the tank shooting it with a shotgun if it tries to attack the other one.(only works 20% of the time) This is not guaranteed because eventually it will summon asphalt from the the tile floor and hurl it at the unluckiest one using the strategy.

In Fallout 2, spending all of my money on the best weapons and ammo and then using my stealth abilities to steal the money back from the guy and buying even more weapons and ammo before stealing the money back again, and in that game you didn't get negative karma for stealing which I had to laugh at.

In Dark Messiah you had an ability called adrenaline that allowed you to instantly kill an enemy. I played rogue, and a skill branch was the ability to use this multiple times.

I simply used it on every boss, even the final one! I just hit him with a knife twice and he died. Though, I beat the game several times and this only worked perfectly on my first run through.

I also killed the final boss of Borderlands by hiding behind one of his tentacles and just shooting it a million times with my shotgun.

Also, to kill the final boss of Half Life I jumped into his head and shot his brain a million times. Though, I think this last one is the only way to beat him?

half life 2, the ravenholm bit. instead of taking the lift that takes freakin ages to arrive, just jump off the edge onto the car below. if landed right you should only lose about sixty health which is way less than i lost trying to fight the bastards, plus you conserve a shite load of ammo...

I can't say I tricked the game, but the A.I. got real stupid once while I was playing Smackdown vs Raw 2010. In one of the story mode matches, a computer controlled wrestler comes out to assist the guy I have to beat. As the interrupting wrestler trys to enter the ring, it picks up the the stairs and some how loses the ability to enter the ring, despite the fact that any player or computer can and has entered the ring with weapons, turning what should have been 2 on 1 match into a fairly easy 1 on 1 match.
