One or two panels, okay.

But any more...IS WRONG!
Nope, sorry, not even one is okay. You rise and fall by your own merits, period.

Hey Gene: parent your dumb kid.
No, I meant, that like, one or two could possibly be considered a coincidence.

it looks very similar but it's not necessarily a direct copy, most things have been done at least once in art by now. it's worth keeping an open mind about casual similarities, it's possible that he read bleach a while ago, the pose stuck in his mind and he unconsciously aped it. or even that its a coincidence.

it's probably not, but y'know, i had to try.
Click the bleach forum link in the article. There are more than just a few 'similarities'.

Bummer about Nick's comic, though if he's unfairly used existing material pulling the book seems the fair thing to do (which should make for some scarcity price-hikes.)

Also, not to nitpick (much) but KISS is, at best, hard rock, not really heavy metal.

There is that one demographic of the internet community that is both easy to troll and extremely dangerious to troll.

I'm talking Bleach fans with there own extensive sword collections and oddly fanatical devotion (and defense) to (of) the series.

Big, fat deal. Truthfully this kind of thing happens all the time, and has even been done intentionally as a homage/joke. I mean crud, in the DC Wildstorm universe they have had brawls where a bunch of comic characters including guys like Spawn and The Thing were sitting around in a bar and started mixing it up. The Authority once fought a whole bunch of genetically created super beings (an army of them) all of whom were based on popular Marvel characters, and very recognizably so despite some minor (and ocasionally disturbing) changes. You even had The Midnighter (gay super hero) sodomize the equivilent of Captain America to death with a wooden post. Albeit the actual penetration/execution shot was not shown. :p
There is satire/homage to existing works, and then there is tracing artwork.

So if he said,"hey, I'm ripping all the characters from Bleach and assraping them to death," it would be okay.

Never even heard of Bleach...

Yeah... dumb move. It's already tough enough to do anything without it closely or exactly imitating something before you (I dare you to try writing something original featuring a cop or soldier or space marine, I dare you![footnote]If you have already written something original featuring one of these three characters, feel free to PM me a link. I have to see it.[/footnote]) but if you do it on purpose? That's neither cool nor smart.

How can someone be accused of ripping of a series that is, in itself, an amalgam of every anime/manga cliche?

I didn't hear much press when Naruto copied off of Cowboy Bebop. Why is this bigger news then that?

he basically switched the body parts of characters and seems to have incorportated alot of the bleach story into his comic. 100% plagerism

He also ripped off Deadman Wonderland.
Oh yeah? I actually really enjoy DMWL - what'd he rip from it?
A fellow fan!

I'm not too sure about the Deadman Wonderland claim (I have yet to see a pic-by-pic comparison of anything other than Bleach), though I'm pretty sure the Hellsing claim is based off the fact that one of the characters looks like what a young Alucard would be.

EDIT: I don't believe the Hellsing claim myself. Hellsing does not have a monopoly on people with red eyes and wacky hairdos.

The Bleach ones, well... yeah, those are obviously copied. Hopefully it was done as a homage, and not plagiarism but until Simmons explains himself I'm gonna hold back my opinion.

I don't see the big deal.
That's just due to the fact that all anime looks the same to me anyways.

After giving this a very VERY close look and analyzing the details i can thusly conclude that yes he did in fact rip off the comic..but tried to hide it by changing some parts...Copying is still copying no matter how its done. But sadly until Tite Kubo and Shonen Jump can say the same and make a lawsuit i fear nothing will be done about this and his connections from his Dad will forever allow him continue.
