if there is a port for PS3, which I think there is, don't get her this. sure, it's fun as hell, it just has some pretty mature stuff. like, for instance, I cried when I had to put a pinata out of it's misery in the first game, and I was 13.unoleian said:Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is actually a lot of fun, if you ask me. And if I remember right, two people can couch-play together at the same time.
CloggedDonkey said:Like most JRPGs, SMT games are focused on the story, and as she doesn't speak English, I guess she just liked the fights and the over-the-top reactions in P4.unoleian said:but I would say the Raidou Kuzunoha shin magami tensei(or how ever it's spelled) games if she enjoyed other Shin Magami games. don't get her Persona three though, as it's the emo older brother of the series, where 4 is one of the noticeably happier.
Also, Raido Kuzunoha costs £40 used and £89 new. Or something like that.
I'm not sure if someone has said it yet, but MODNATION RACERS for the PS3. Basically, it's Little Big Planet meets Mario Kart. You can't go wrong.fesc said:Hello
I have an 8 year old sister who loves video games, especially Super Mario Bros., Little Big Planet, Pokémon and Persona 4 (don't ask why).
I would like you to recommend me good games that I can play with her, multiplayer is optional, for the PS2 or PS3.
She is not fluent in English, so a game without a very complicated story would be nice, although some PG-7 games come dubbed. I don't mind translating text.
Please help me out.

I know quite a few international developers that might publish in her language. and everyone saying Okami is right. it's a good game, but some of the jokes might go over her head.CloggedDonkey said:Like most JRPGs, SMT games are focused on the story, and as she doesn't speak English, I guess she just liked the fights and the over-the-top reactions in P4.unoleian said:but I would say the Raidou Kuzunoha shin magami tensei(or how ever it's spelled) games if she enjoyed other Shin Magami games. don't get her Persona three though, as it's the emo older brother of the series, where 4 is one of the noticeably happier.

CloggedDonkey said:Norwegian. That's why no SMT. I've only seen three copies of Persona 4 and five of Persona 3 here. And they were gone the next day.fesc said:hm, I see. and what nationality is she, anyway? I'm a bit skeptical to get a game made by a local developer, as they tend to be simply less good than foreign games.
Lego RockBand! Not only is it fun as heck but it also has super easy mode. All you really have to do is strum at the right time and you are golden. I don't know how forgiving the drums or vocals are but it is great for beginners (like me).fesc said:Like most kids, she can't play GH worth shit, mostly because of timing and coordination problems, like remembering the buttons. She likes disco music, so I'll nurture that until she's' old enough for rock.AjimboB said:I would also like to recommend Pixel Junk shooter, which is a downloadable game for the PS3, and which has coop mulitplayer, so that you'll be able to play with her. If you don't know much about the game, here is a link to a review of it:

Also, I can't believe no one has mentioned any of the guitar hero or rockband games. They're great games that kids love, plus it's a good way to teach her about good music, and keep her away from those damn Jonas Brothers.
