Help me come to a decision on which of these 3 games to buy.

Stalker is fantastic. Borderlands isn't even an RPG/FPS hybrid: It's an FPS with boring environments, no story and sucks without friends. I got bored of L4D2 once I realized it's the exact same thing as L4D1. And since you were going to buy it on Xbox that's another reason not to get it because Valve games suck on consoles.

seeing as you dot play online much are l4d and borderlands the best option?
perhaps bioshock2 or ME2

between those options... borderlands as l4d2 wont last without online.
how about a poll?

If you have friends that would play it with you, L4D2 would probably serve the best.

I had great fun with Borderlands in singleplayer only. It was great when I felt like spending a couple of hours just killing things to relax. And the siren class is superior imho, here's why;
Go invisible-->apply shotgun to enemy's face.

Hmmm... This might turn into a flame war, but I'd go with L4D2, Borderlands started to bore me after a while and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I haven't played a lot so I can't tell...

I've only played Borderlands, but I love it. I don't know why some people say it's nothing like an RPG... It has a level system, skill points, skill levels for all weapons. And the multiplayer is over rated, I enjoy it single player. Though, as with any game, it's more fun with a friend or three. Online doesn't work so well.

Go with Left 4 Dead 2. It's a really fun to play game, and you'll play it for a long time.

Borderlands is more of an mmo-shooter in my opinion. You grind through the entire game, and you grind by shooting things. The whole roleplaying aspects goes as far as "you can level up".

Got no opinion in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. due to the fact that I have never played any of the games.

To those suggesting ME2: I've already played and really didn't enjoy it that much. It's a decent enough game, to be sure. But it just doesn't click with me

I'd suggest l4D2 if you liked the original the squeal is better so long as you didn't burn yourself out on the original. That or Borderlands although Borderlands has less replay value and a terrible story (due to it not really existing).

I'd say Borderlands. L4D2 was a HUGE letdown for me, and Borderlands will still be coming out with DLC regularly for the foreseeable future. Never got the chance to try Stalker.

For Left 4 Dead, unless you're ABSOLUTELY SURE, never buy a game because you think you're going to play it with other people. Chances are, you'll never actually play it with your friends. Maybe once or twice.

Borderlands: Singleplayer lasts about ten hours. Not because the story ends, but because by then, I was kind of sick of it all.

This has been based on my own personal experiences. Perspectives worth considering, though.

Sounds to me like you got an itch to burn money and are stuck with the bottom of the barrel to play with. Wait a few months. Better games are coming out.
