Help with my PC

I built my PC about 2 months ago. I got a lot of help from a couple of my friends who are really into computer stuff and know their builds and blah. I am not that guy, I know very littler about computers, and almost everything I do know is how to operate them, not how to fix/maintain/build them. Which brings me to the issue at hand. My computer keeps freezing whenever it gets jostled. I live in and old house, and just walking kinda fast in my room or in the kitchen(right next to my room) can freeze it. Sitting down heavily or bumping the leg of my desk when I pull my chair in is almost guaranteed to freeze it. I've noticed two things that make it worse. It's far more likely to do this in the first 20 minutes or so after I start or restart the computer. It's also more likely to do this if I'm playing a video game, even a low intensity one like LoL, but it gets better if I turn the settings down.

So, does anyone know what the heck is causing this? I know that a lot of you build computers and know a lot about this sort of thing, I'm also thinking that maybe one of you has experienced similar problems. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and help me out.

Tl;Dr, my computer is freezing a lot, but I'm pretty sure it was correctly built with compatible parts.

You'll have to give a bit more information mate. What exactly do you mean by "freezing"? Does pressing the mouse and keyboard not give a visual response? Are there any animations or video or anything that simply stop playing when they should be? Do you get what is called the Blue Screen of Death (google it)?
Any reason you're not talking to your friends about this? If they're the guys who advised you on the build, they're the guys you should be asking.

No visual response to anything, even loading animations freeze. Audio also cuts out or very occasionally starts making a strange sound as though the speakers are getting the same 1/4 second of sound over and over and over again. No, no blue screen of death, it just freezes. As to why I'm not talking to the guy who helped me build it, he takes forever to respond to any kind of communication. He has a crazy busy job. I don't want to play phone tag for 2 months, I just thought this would be faster.

What I suspect is happening is that there is something not seated properly. The prime suspect is the graphics card not being in properly but it could also be the memory that is loose.

That was my guess as well, I'm pretty sure the GPU is in firmly, it was one of the first things I checked, but I didn't check the memory as well. I have tomorrow off, so I'll do my best to re-seat all the components and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice, I wasn't sure enough to go through all that effort.

Check all the power connectors to the motherboard (and I guess everything else). Those things are extremely sensitive. Even the slightest voltage change can freeze up the whole system. Once I was inside my computer with it on just tightening a screw and I tapped the 24 pin connector with a very slightly magnetic and the whole system froze,

As such, make sure no unshielded power cables are near anything magnetic.

Thanks for the help everyone. I took out and reseated all of the power cables, the ram, and the gpu, and the problem is gone now. Thanks for helping me work up the ambition to do it.
