I had an assignment today for Language Arts class (It was to create a story involving a lot of heroism) And I thought it was a really interesting idea, so, does anyone have some pretty good stories like that? Or you can always write one in a response.

First, shame on you for trying to pawn work off of us for your own assignments.

Second, sure!

I suggest an epic battle between Some Sort of Hero-Type Character (your design) and the dangerously genre-savvy warlock, Garlock The Destroyer. The plot? Garlock is attempting to blast all the atmosphere of the world into space. Why? Because he'll take over a world of the dead and he doesn't actually have to breathe.

ehhh take one small viking boy with the culture already built in but not the frame to go with it yet and put him in a completely different setting

one where his blazing fire is really contrasted to his environment and his own limitations.

let his difficulties fitting in bring him down and them shebang at the end he's the only one with the heart to be heroic.

i dont really know how long your planning on doing it or the settings and limitions but hows that?

How about a fight between two heros from opposite sides of a war. Pepper in a little back story, show why they are fighting, and make the reader want to root for both of them. Then to be a jerk, build up the suspense until one pivotal moment when it becomes clear the fight is about to be finished, and then end it on a cliff-hanger without saying who won.

If that doesn't work, you can always do a generic "coming of age" story. Your choice.

Heroism doesn't necessarily have to be a big fantastic tale. In my experience professors/teachers like to hear 'every day' stories. Maybe someone helping someone helping a stranger in a car wreck, stopping a friend from committing suicide, or trying to fight off some people working over a homeless guy.

Night falls on the Roncevaux Pass as the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne's rearguard lead by his almighty paladins sets in behind the main force as they travel back from Spain. Little did they know the dastardly snitch Ganelon told those dirty Spanish-muslim goons about their march. As the moon swept by overhead, the muslims struck. Roland, the chief paladin of Charlemagne set up his forces to buy his majesty Charlemagne time to get away from the ambush instead of calling for help.
The twelve paladins by themselves fought tooth and nail against the evil Franks, until the last man. Roland himself slew 1,246 warriors with his holy sword Durendal, said to be passed down from Hector of Troy and made from stardust, unicorn bones, and the blood of Caesar's foot-washer. As he leaned up against a rock, 34 arrows in his chest, hundreds of stab wounds decorating his extremities, he used his very last breath to blow his enormous oliphant horn to signal Charlemagne to avenge this despicable deed. With his 10 million troops, Charlemagne decimated every enemy within 10,000 miles. And thus the great Roland and his noble paladins were avenged.

One of my students wrote a story about sharing with his little brother. That's pretty heroic for a 6 year old to comprehend.

You can never go wrong with a good ol' fashioned war hero story. It can medieval or modern warfare. It works either way.

When the hell have I done the other two things there? Besides that wasn't the kind of car wreck I'm thinking of, I mean one where you have to save someones life not just keep them calm till an ambulance comes because their legs are broken.
