I was watching the Air movie and I suddenly thought 'Hey, its Junpei!'. Turned out I was right, surprisingly. If I can't see the face I generally don't recognise the voice.

I don't recognize that many voices at all, and it seems to be because I don't watch anime dubbed, from what I've read in this thread.

Remember CoD4 online? Remember the SAS guy saying "let's do this", I think it was Gaz?

I just knew I recognised the voice. So, without the help of IMDb, I worked out it was Craig Fairbrass, the football-loving bad guy from Cliffhanger!

Plus there's never a time when I don't spot John DiMaggio. Kim Possible, Bender, Gears of War, that new Star Wars game.

=)

As for me, Simon Templeman

I recognise him very easily. So do I recognise Michael Bell (Raziel) and Tony Jay (the Elder God)

A few weeks ago, I was on my computer while an old Next Generation episode was on in the backround (when Troi was kidnapped and forced to act as Romulan secret police to smuggle members of the Romulan underground to Federation space), and when the Romulan Captain starting acting bitchy... I though, "She's the evil Leaper!"

Also, more recently, Dr. Chakwas.

When playing Fallout: New Vegas recently, I couldn't help but notice that several guys in that game sound exactly like Al Mualim from Assassin's Creed.
The most hilarious case of this being Easy Pete. Same guy voiced Master Splinter too, way back when. I can't walk up to Pete and not get flashes of a hooded Splinter holding the Apple of Eden while munching on a wheat shoot and talking off the side of his mouth like a good old boy from Southern Texas.

Being a Québécois, playing all the AssCreed games is especially hilarious. Ubisoft Montreal hired a lot of local actors to do incidental dialogue, with the live-action tie-in material to ACII going so far as to star quite a few locals.

The guy getting tortured on the rack? He does soap opera work up here. Rodrigo Borgia? I hear his voice whenever I watch a dubbed version of a Hollywood film for the sake of my parents who don't speak English too well. The guy who voiced Robert de Sable in the first game does ads for Budweiser as well as a metric ton of radio ads.

My one regret with AssCreed is they didn't tap local talent for the music. Michel Cusson could've done incredible stuff, I'm sure, as he's fairly at ease in Moorish-slash-Middle Eastern auditive territories. They went with Jesper Kyd instead, 'cause the guy has a proven track record.

I get this a lot, there are a few voice actors/actresses I can almost immediately recognize their voices from various anime/video games. The most recent major wtf moment was watching The Big Picture in schlocktober when Bob did the one about Attack of the Super Monsters and I realized Emperor Tyrannus was voiced by the same guy who did Gennai from Digimon Adventure. :)

I haven't checked to see if its the same guy, but while playing Skyrim, the voice that continually sticks out to me, is the voice actor who did the parts of "Olfrid Battle-born" and obviously several others in the game, but every time I hear his voice I think of:

Tigger from Disneys Winnie the Pooh movies.

Edit: After checking, turns out the guy who did the voice of tigger died in '05 so it clearly isn't the same person, but I still laugh every time I hear Jim Cummings (the voice actor for many skyrim characters)because of the similarity of their voices.

This blew my mind when I first heard it, I could not believe Steve Blum who played Spike Spiegel was Guilmon!

Anyway, I recognise voices quite a bit mainly because I look through the cast of a dubbed anime in choosing if I should watch it Sub'd or not, If the names Johnny Yong Bosch, Crispin Freeman, Steve Blum, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Wendee Lee come up I usually watch it dubbed.

That's a weird thing to say since a lot of the posts don't even involve anime :/

I do this all the damn time. Hell, just this past Saturday I had one of those moments when I went to see 007: Skyfall. The agent that was working with Bond in the pre-titles action sequence looked ridiculously familiar to me, and I couldn't put my finger on where I'd seen her before. About halfway through the song I figured it out, she played Selena in 28 Days Later. Naomie Harris.

Also, spotting Steve Blum in video games has become kind of like a "Where's Waldo?" sort of game among my friends and I. We got a pretty good laugh back when we were still playing SWToR and found a room with four vendors in it where three of them were all voiced by Steve Blum.

These people, these voice actors are my heroes.
Hidden dream of mine is to become a voice actor one day.

Sadly, I'm not American, and my native country doesn't do that much in the way of voice acting.
ah well, a man can dream.

Once you hear Steve Blum, you may never unhear him. He is everywhere.

Also, Moxxi is Holo the Wise Wolf. That was a surreal realization.

I always do that and my GF has started hitting me because it keeps taking her out of the experience :3

But I think the best time I ever did this was when I was watching the end credits of Star Wars and realized something.

Mark Hamill

mARK HAMill

ARKHAM

MARK HAMILL IS JOKER AND LUKE SKYWALKER. Turns out I was right. Couldn't stop smirking for a day after that.

Yes I noticed David in star wars too. Was walking passed the tv and stopped when I heard him. Which resulted in me spouting light saber/sonic screwdriver jokes (I also did that with wands/screwdriver in harry potter)

Also I recognized john de lancie (same scenario, walked passed the tv which was set on a random channel) in my little pony so we can pretty much blame Q for opening my eyes to the fact that reboots might be a good thing.

And Mila kunis in family guy. This time I sat down to watch the show intentionally though........WHAT? I was waiting for the Simpsons to start.

I thought the bigger Dexter/Mass Effect cross was Yvonne Strahovski (Miranda) playing a major character this season.

Speaking of which, in last night's episode, I heard her australian accent creep for one word in a heated scene and it made me go "dammit, stop thinking about the actor behind the character!".
it probably is....I just recognised his name in the credits...in fact I might have even seen her name...

I dont watch dexter but what charachter does she play?
