Same here, were he not doing it for popularity/admitting it I'd be cheering him on.

Nope, those do not usually explode, but given the situation, would you personally take a closer look or run like hell? Most people would better be safe than sorry. Now I bet the guy who put it there is real sorry.
True. If I found something like that I'd also wonder why on earth someone would waste a good Gameboy like that :( Those things are cool and endure intense use for a long time.

"Hey guys! I pretended to be a terrorist!" Yeah that's something to boost your popularity, maybe his fellow inmates will have stories of their own.
If he can make bombs with Gameboys I'm sure he can make lube and condoms out of toiletpaper and prison meals.

You know, come to think of it, you could make a convincing looking bomb by dismembering an old game boy. An eerily professional looking one at that. Also, naturally, how do you become popular doing this? My guess, actually, is that the kid wanted to get out of class, and when he was caught he decided to go with the first thing he could think of that might get him even a little sympathy.

I can't see how that would work. I made a bomb feel bad for me.

Boost his popularity...? At what point in the thought process did making a bomb and bringing it to school seem like a good idea?

But it looks like... *puts on shades* ....it's game over for him... YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Yeah, probably, unless you meant it sarcastically. :p

Well, unless he gets extremely lucky, this kid has just signed his life away. He's not going to have a job worth a damn, 'cause oh look, felony. He won't be allowed to get on a plane, because oh look, bomb manufacturer (even if it was fake). Buy a house or a car? Nope... Just so many little things that make up a persons life that will be closed off, or made terribly difficult to access if he gets a felony conviction on this. And for what? Shits and giggles in highschool? I'm all for school pranks, but this is on my top ten list of things you never do. As in absolutely, never should have even entered ones mind. If you want to be popular, go spread grass killer on the football field so it looks like a giant penis, or toilet paper the entire school. This, though... you just don't do that.

Hehehe, that made me laugh out loud.

OT: It was a bit of a dick move, however, im rather impressed at his improvisation skills.

"Hey, I want to boost my popularity! Let me fake an act of terrorism!"

And because it has to be said "Somebody set up us the bomb!"
Damn you ninja!

OT: Well that was just... just stupid. I'm sorry that post was short but nothing else comes to mind right now, just shaking my head at how damn stupid this kid was for thinking making a fake bomb in school would be a good idea.

I've put a bomb in the escapist "Reply to Thread box" the next person who clicks "REPLY" will explode the the text box on the forum, so the forum discussions will be stopped forever bwaaaahahahahahaha

Hey, I made a bomb threat, am I more popular now? Anyone want to date the Snot-man? ...No? Shoot, it was just some masking tape on my screen anyway that said "Da Bawm!"

In all seriousness, there's easier ways to be more popular, like not being an idiot.

I didn't know gameboy/cellphone/prodtruding wires combo could make things go boom (theoretically. Glad no one was hurt though).
And indeed, what a strange popularity boost. Are all his friends terrorists or something?
I'm GLaD no one was hurt too. And you do have to question what kinds of friends he'd have, if he thought a fake bomb would make him popular. Jeez! I thought my life was complicated!

Ok, what? That has got to be the dumbest publicity stunt ever.

Is this kid in special ed, or did he not just hear about the bomb scare in NYC?

I mean, wow. Just...wow.

And a kid has got to be REALLY desperate to do something like THAT to raise popularity. Hell, I would've just joined a sports team or something, and I F***ing hate sports!

We had a similar threat like that at my school a few years back. The kid who sis it got in trouble with the school and police but everyone loved him for getting us the afternoon off school.

Why would he waste a gameboy like that?

Pop in some tetris. Screw popularity. You got scores to beat.
