I asked him first, because I was impatient. I wanted him all to myself. :) He asked me out a few minutes later though. Lol.

And we fell in love with eachothers personality. We just clicked and found ways to be together. <3 He completes me.
Well that isn't entirely true. It just sort of happened... though we asked each other to make is official. We just clicked.

I asked my girlfriend out after talking to her for a few days. She had a secret crush on me for a year but was too afraid to talk to me (que AWWWS.)

I asked my partner out, we had dated a few times before after being set up and after about 5 dates I asked her to be my girlfriend... it was 2 years on Wednesday.

Me and my best friend just slowly drew together. Never asked her out, I really should have done.
It's over now, and I really hurt her and it's all my fucking fault.
...don't date your really good friends, it fucks up the friendship >.<

....Sorry this isn't exactly on the topic of the thread, but...whatever. My bad.

I never had a relationship, I actually don't think I could. I'm pretty mistrustful of most people and from what I've seen relationships don't work out.

So a distrust of people and a defeatist attitude pretty much limits me to sex only relationships... which I completely accept.

After a day at valley fair, we went to her dorm, watched a couple of movies, made out, and i asked her out at 5 am the next day (long movies). I was happy she said yes, but miserable the rest of the day, cause i had to work at 9am XP

"We starred at each other for about 10 seconds in class, after which we both looked away and smiled in a romantic way. From that moment on I knew she was the one. We then grew closer and closer. We started talking about our problems, go out, shared our first kiss and eventually admitted our love for each other. On a Saturday night, during New Years Eve she came to my house and we made sweet, tender love until the morning..."

The above is a lie, actually. I met her at a festival drunk out of her ass. She puked on my shoes, I puked on her shirt. It was love at first sight I tell you!

As i'm growing up, it seems obvious that most of my friends only last in a relationship for a few months, because they don't think about important issues, only about having fun.

I've only ever been on the pursuit for a relationship, I sure hope that it gets easier, later on in life.

We met on a forum - started IMing each other regularly, then one day she flew up to see me a few days after christmas - we got together about an hour later. :)

The question being, how did you and your partner get together?
.
It was literally this, at our very first conversation:

Me: Hi.
Her: Hi.
Me. I've seen you around before.
Her: Yeah, me too. I always thought you were cute.
Me: Come here.

*kissing ensues*

How'd we get together? Met in a guild on WoW, though we never really talked much until another friend in the guild actually got us talking. And he was the one who asked me after a while. Surprisingly we've actually been together almost a year, so not that bad considering we met through a game.

Too much hassle. Nowadays, the only way to keep someone by your side is to keep them entertained ("relationship"/"friendship"), otherwise they would get bored and find another.

These two girls asked me to come with them after school, and they both started hitting on me, we brought a third girl along... so it was me and 3 girls (what a beast) and then another guy came along.
And we figured out we had a love square (or something similar), the guy liked one girl and that girl liked me, and I was unsure but I used to like the first girl who liked the other guy. So yeah, we had a square.

We all knew this and then I eventually figured out I liked the other girl that the guy liked so we went out and yeah.
After a month the other two started going out.
THEN the girl I'm going out with says she doesn't want a boyfriend and we have to split up because she keeps pushing me away.

So yeah, now the other two are going strong and the two people that actually liked each other are apart, she doesn't talk to me and I feel like shit because I still like her and it's been something like 5 months... seriously it's normal for guys to get over girls or at least develop attractions to new ones, but nope, I feel completely asexual relationship wise to everyone but her... WHICH PISSES ME OFF.
I hate relationships, yet they're the best thing on the planet when they work out right.

(oh and now the third girl is my best friend, the other guy is also one of my best friends and the same goes for the other girl. Just my ex isn't speaking to me properly.)

Are people here really sure it's love? It could be hormones or lust.

Ahem, I didn't/couldn't as I alread admitted I liked her and stayed that way for a long time. One time I asked her and she said no. Strange thing is, I feel no different.

Not in a relationship, hoping NEVER to get in one. Seems waaaaaay too much hassle for someone who would likely piss me off at every opportunity.
So true...
