Anyway I see it two ways. These guys are perfectly right to ask not to be portrayed cartoony or rather that their is another more respectful depiction of their belief out there. But people are allowed to reinterpret things however they want. Piss Christ is a tad insulting but I would hate to live in a world where it wasn't allowed

I agree on the freedom of speech bit. I would agree that Piss Christ seems to be intentionally provocative, hence my distaste in it, but I support its right to exist (although that goes both ways, I feel free to criticise it in return). I don't think that the Hindu response was particularly vitriolic though, so I certainly don't agree with all of the people here who have decided to play 'blame the victim'. It's a common reaction whenever someone points out a precieved injustice, and I get mighty tired of listening to it.

I would agree with you that the Hindu response has been conducted in the best possible manner. Honestly I think the game is fine but I can understand that simply by existing you would feel compelled to say "actually guys we don't quite believe that..." I mean Hinduism is such a fascinating religion by itself that even if you don't care for the spiritual dimension to it the stories it tell do deserve hearing.

well he's not the main character but YHVH from the Shin Megami Tensai series certainly is psychotic and world destroying even when he's trying to be nice. in some of the games you even get to team up with Lucifer and punch him in his face. and technically Jesus is featured in the persona series as a usable persona along with Lucifer, Satan, Beelzebub, and a few other deities. you were probably totally right about the Mohammed thing though.

This is about the worst thing you can said. Respect should be EARNED through GOOD things. Just because you're an religion or have a faith should give you respect.
