First time I heard my bones creak when I get outta bed in the morning. Or when I take my morning vitamins
There were three major things for me.Neverhoodian said:Who among you has had your first inklings that you're starting to age? You're coasting through your early adulthood, still riding high on that youthful feeling of invulnerability. Suddenly and without warning, your mind and/or body suddenly pipes up and says, "look buddy, you aren't a kid anymore. You can't keep this lifestyle up for much longer, so get your shit together."
My mom used to have a crush on one of my high school English teachers.joinchoir said:A teacher's least favorite words: "You were my mother's music teacher."
Oh, my knees creak when I'm sitting on them, gathering stuff together and I always stop to think, "What's that noise?" then I slowly move and discover it's my knees. Certainly not the floor boards either.IndomitableSam said:I'm starting to look things up on Urban Dictionary because I have no clue what they mean.
My knees crackle on stairs... but my condo is a main floor unit, so I don't normally use stairs anymore, so that may just be it.
I have bags and dark circles under and around my eyes but that's from waves of insomnia ever since I was age sixteen. The odd, individual gray hair for quite some time now. Sigh.IndomitableSam said:People constantly asking me if I have kids. Or when I buy something they say "and get this for your kids!" ... Do I look like I have kids? I recently pulled an old CD by "Hell is for Heroes" out of the loft that I bought when i was in my early 20s (29 now) which at the time I also thought was one of the most powerful things I ever heard. I transferred the album onto my iphone for a quick listen. What seemed somewhat profound and emotional back then now just sounded whiny and a little immature for the most part.AvsJoe said:Re-watching the films I loved as a kid reminds me of this every time. Also, as a kid I loved Linkin Park and the like, seeing their songs as soulful yet powerful. Now... well... I don't. I realize now that they are just another pop/rock band that is aimed at the teen demographic and isn't at all different than the crap that plays today. Once I loved their entire discography, now I can stand less than 5 of their songs and hate the rest.
