I've never really understood this reasoning. In the time it took you to type your gripe, I could type a gripe about any given subject. It doesn't take a lot of time to complain.

I fucking hate Mangoes. There. Took me less than 3 seconds.
Pineapples suck. 1.5 seconds.

But seriously, its a forum. Forums exist because people have free time to discuss stuff like this. If people don't like it when discussions are had, why even comment on the post?

Discussions don't equal everyone getting mad over something horribly inconsequential.

Whoa...lots of people get angry about inconsequential things. It's no reason to fly off the handle, man. Just calm down.

It would have been better if they had the nun habits on whilst they were fighting, instead of the s&m nun thing going on there, it would have been a better fit for the circumstances. I presonally think it would have looked cooler as well. just my opinion

I wasn't offended by the trailer. I just found it base and tasteless. To me, the trailer looked like some director went out and hired a bunch of porn-stars to act in the role of fetishized assassins, but he neglected to tell them that they would be fighting a REAL assassin who was actually going to use his full abilities to kill them. They did not seem represent any sort of adversarial force that could actually opposed 47, being that they were only porn-stars pretending to be assassins; instead, they seemed to be placed there with no point or purpose other than to distract you with fetish sex (and, to be honest, often when marketers feel the need to put that much emphasis on sex to distract you, that usually means the product is super shitty and not worth even 2 seconds of mental effort to even consider the possibility of purchase). It was just low-ball, low-brow, tacky, tasteless, base marketing.

EDIT: minor edit for grammar.

I have to agree that people were more upset about the gameplay style change. I mean, a deadly enemy is a deadly enemy regardless of gender, and shielding one gender that's on equal footing with another from equal digital punishment is just holding gender relations back in the long run.

You know what? You're absolutely right.

It was silly of me to leap to assumptions regarding someone's emotional state based on something they wrote on the internet.

what with the Hollywood style random explosions and the over the top sillyness that has never been a major part of the Hitman series.
And now I'm convinced you've never played a Hitman game in your life.
You didn't catch it by the off handed insult in the title of the post?

"Your feeble minds can't handle this, so let me educate you."

I literally can't see you as anything but a blowfish that has learned how to type.

It made your post SO good to read. I just imagined a blowfish in front of a submersible monitor tapping its forehead with its fin. "Oh silly me." it says as it floats about fully engorged. "I need to stop going off so quickly at the smallest thing :(."

I think shit like this wouldn't cause such a stir if we just cleaned up gaming's PR a bit. In conventions and TV spots, just be like, "Yeah guys we got Mario and Army Games, stuff like that for everyone!" Then put all the ultra-violence, sexualised, Hitman, No More Heroes and Man Hunt kind of shit on the internet where people who don't wear monicles can not be overly offended. Hitman can have its tits, Bioware can put as much henonism and omni-sexuality D&D shit in their games as they want and no one causes a fuss. We all want better quality stuff, but it'll probably come more easily if we don't cause a backlash every time it's not what people expect. And who knows - maybe Hitman: Absolution will be a better game for it, it ain't even out yet.

I hear what you're saying and before I continue I'd like to thank you for actually having a point beyond showing YouTube videos and screenshots of old Hitman games and going "I don't know what you're talking about, there's violence and boobs here, durrrr."

While I understand that RE:4 was critically acclaimed it wasn't without disappointed fans. A lot of people do feel that RE:4 was when the series stopped being a survival horror game and started to become another flashy action game. Don't get me wrong, the game is still amazing to play, but the "I'm supposed to be scared" aspect took a significant hit. People didn't love RE:5 as much as RE:4 because the horror aspect was completely gone and now look at RE:6. it looks ridiculous.

I think fans of Hitman fear that one of their favourite franchises is going in the same direction. Can't blame them for being worried, with the way a lot of franchises have changed over the year for the worse people want to keep as many of the good ones around to enjoy in their entirety as possible.
My pleasure, I think judging by most of the replies in this thread people completely missed the point you were trying to make. I can wholeheartedly sympathise when it comes to watching a franchise you love potentially getting stripped of everything that made it great: Ratchet & Clank is my favourite series of all time; imagine how I felt when I saw the new full-game release had shoehorned in obligatory 4-player co-op for no reason, (funnily enough that's the same reason I hated RE5, maybe I just need to get some gamer friends.)

The problem with change is that you're always going to upset people who like things the way they are now (see: fans of TMNT raging at Michael Bay for turning the turtles into aliens when their canon origin story was every bit as damn stupid) but I think, in retrospect, a lot of the people who hated on the change initially come to enjoy it in the end, because a good game is a good game (Wind Waker, anyone?)

Don't get me wrong, there is still the absolute possibility that they could completely ruin an otherwise solid franchise by turning it into a bog-standard run and gun affair, but I always think we should reserve judgement until we've seen the final product. And --this certainly helps me-- always keep in mind that no matter how much they fuck up a new installment, no franchise is every really gone forever, which is something a lot of Dead Space fanboys need to get through their skulls.

Again you're missing the point. Posting a fan-made vid proves nothing.
Uh...you do know that's an actual trailer, right?

Yes there are sexual themes and violence in the series, but they're handled properly. Bikini babe assassins make sense considering they're near pools of water in a mansion. We've all seen James Bond. My point is that the latex clad nuns had no realistic reason to be dressed they way they were. They looked like Saint's Row gang rejects. Hell, if they weren't in latex and were trying to kill Agent 47 in a church, this would not be an issue. The fact is that this trailer is out of place with the rest of the series. If the developers thought enough to change the Saints' appearance in-game to try to preserve the integrity of the game, then by all means that portion of the game probably needed it. As we've seen footage of the game itself that looks to be a great Hitman addition I think you can agree that the latex RPG toting nuns would not have been a great addition to the game.
Don't know, could go either way on it. Depends if they're interesting characters or not. If it's consistent with the tone of the universe, why worry?
