items on ebay that aren't mine
me at the escapist
digg where I've never been
my frell me dead account (Stark for president!)
my steam
one old and bad VF5 match of mine (Brad is my main, this is Goh)
another old and bad VF5 match of mine (Brad is my main, this is Vane)
well at least that match I lost 2-3 where my 2 rounds were perfects isn't here
my posts/account at virtuafighter.com
my profile at DLK that no longer exists...
followed by loads of random stuff that may or may not be me, I am at AZM, not at EQ or WoW

I'm actually rather sad google doesn't try to correct a non-existent word. Maybe I've become a household name? Ah, how I cherished the days all 600 results on google for Vortigar were me...

My real name gets me one page of mine and then a million that aren't. That's what you get when your first name is Dutch royalty and your last is French aristocracy.

Escapist first, then myspace, then vampirefreaks, then thecomicforums.com, then a bunch of stuff I don't remember signing up for, but appears to be linked to the ecapist (triangle gaming initiative, warcry). 1,910 hits

I get about 1,090 hits searching for my screen name; it basically shows the various blog/forum accounts I have, since I use the same name across the entire web.
However, when I search for my REAL name, I get 359,000 hits because I happen to have the same name as a famous Marvel comic book artist. :D

First result is a Yahoo!Answers profile, but not mine.

Then my Escapist Profile.

Then my GodHand review on the Escapist's forum.

Then a YouTube profile (but not mine, my YT screenname is Rafalgahr).

Then an old post by me dating back to Nov 2006 on the Gueux's forum (French-speaking xbox-modding community).

Then a Steam account (not mine, don't have Steam).

832 results at all...

Mine is, surprisingly! While my initials, RAK, are hardly unique, the "theUndead" suffix appears to be!

My real name, however, only has about one or two oblique references to me, and for that, I'll be eternally grateful. I'm extremely paranoid and believe that the Eric S. Raymond argument, "Everybody should use their real name on the internet" should only apply if the real name is used for a worthy article; that is, if I actually got something published on a reputable website, including The Escapist, I would use my real name.
My name appears to be fairly unique, although some guy from Lithuania is using e-xhumed as a user name (his sign up to a pornsite message board came up on google.)

RAK> Using your real name OTI is risky outside of publication purposes, and even then, no one knows who is going to read what you wrote, or who might make claims under your name.

The ESR argument would work if there were no trolls at all... Yet I don't like this idea.
I can understand using your first name or a play on your initials, but I don't believe there is a valuable alternative to pseudonyms yet.

Hmm, I have 15,500 hits for my first name, and the first two ones are me, them some other ones quote my name, and are by people I know... suddenly I find this utterly creepy...
And I'm all the more glad I try to remain as Anonymous as I can...

Well, the internets is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll find (and abusing it will turn your stomach inside out).

Apparently I'm a villain in Batman who seems to...do...evil things? With evil powers?

I dunno, his power seems to be squeezing people with his palms...really hard...so their ribs pop out...

I had no idea they'd decided to make a comic after me, quite frankly I'm honoured...although they could have chosen something a little cooler...

I'm on everything...I'm on:
The Escapist,
Giai Online,
Triangle Game Initiative (Which links to the Escapist it seems...),
Mod the Sims 2,
WoW Warcry (Which links to the Escapist as well),
Neogolds,
and then a lot of music channels who liked Velvet Revolver and Wolf Mother...
And I'm a song by Fantasy Kid...

(I'll make the ones that are me bold...)

And searching my real name gets A LOT of profiles. Mostly by girls...That's depressing...

Yeah same, sucks to know you're not unique...

I searched using my real name and my screen name and I got:

My Facebook profile
My Friendster profile (Not my myspace or bebo accounts which is weird)
My Youtube channel
Random websites that have taken my videos from youtube
My Escapist account

Oops! We host the site (it's a local thing) but it looks like all our 'global' stuff is working anyway. I'll have to turn that off :p
