there are a couple points on your left hand but i dont remember where they are, try salt that could be it but if not try putting one finger i THINK on the webbing of your left thumb (possibly a little bit in the direction of fingertips, idk) and one on the other side of your hand, then squeezing

and if that doesnt help, try completely blocking off all your senses.

I also try to take a freezing shower. Saps the pain right out of my head.

I feel for you man, I have had to go to hospital with ass kicking Migraines before now. All I can suggest is dark room, water & sleep. If you have Migraine the last thing you should be doing is posting on here or playing video games. Get to bed

Who needs 'home' headache cures when tylenol with codeine is no further away than behind the counter of any pharmacy? Don't even need a perscription unless you're asking for Ty 3.
maybe i should have been clearer, i have the medication becuase the migraines are much too powerful foe tylenol AND codeine (together)

i was hoping something like a miracle cure or a wife's tale

I would advise a more detailed examination of your head (no not the psychopath). Migraines which apparently have no source are usually the opening for something worse. Other than that... sleep I guess... it usually works for me...

If it's a sinus headache, the trick is inhaling steam throught the nose and exhaling through the mouth. You could do it in a steam room or a really hot shower, but if you can't do that, boil a small pot of pure water. When a good cloud of steam starts rising, lean over and inhale the steam throught the nostrils, then exhale through your mouth.

10 minutes of that will give about 45 minutes of relief, or you can do it until the sinus blockage actually detaches from the sinuses and flows out the mouth (I know, extremely nasty as hell, but hey, if it stops the headaches, right?). I had the same problem when I went to the beach for a week, and my uncle recommended it.

I must say that Tylenol works wonders compared to my pansy Panadol & Nurofen. I had to smuggle a few containers back from the US to get some relief.

So here is the question. Does anyone know of any Homestyle cures for headaches/migraines, and please dont try to get me to do some ridiculous stupid crap, i would appreciate stuff that actually works.
Sex. Lots and lots of sex.

But seriously, from what I understand the trick with migraines is to avoid getting them in the first place. Many are triggered by allergies, very frequently to FOOD. My dad, for instance, has a terrible migraine each and every time he drinks red wine.

I'd advise cutting first one category food then another from your diet until you've isolated that it isn't a factor. (Go a week with no sweets or starches, for instance, then no meat or dairy products, or whatever.) Also make sure that you're getting enough sleep, you're not drinking alcohol or taking any caffeine, and you're eating meals *regularly*.

Once you've gotten the headache, there's pretty much nothing you can do except take Excedrin and wait.

You also should get evaluated by a doctor to make sure that you do, in fact, have "migraines" and not just "bad and frequent headaches". They're not the same thing.

You would be better off trying to find the reason for your headaches than the cure.

OK you might think I am crazy, but when I used to get migraines my doctor told me to stop eating:
- wheat [bread]
- white [bread]

Migraines are now gone from my life because I stopped eating those!

Best of luck to ya!

Headaches can generally be caused by dehydration, being extremely worn out, bad eyesight... or in my case, tooth ache.

So, I'd recommend that you: Try to catnap a few hours a day, drink plenty bottled water (the tap stuff can have nasty things in it), eat fresh fruit and get to sleep before 12 at night if you can.

Beyond that, see an optician and ask your doctor what they think is causing the headaches.
