I feel dirty for putting this on here, but I'm one of those people who doesn't believe the game is truly beaten until everything's been done. So if I don't get all the achievements for a game, I have to keep playing until I get everything. It's been like this since Mario Bros 3. I had to beat EVERY level if I wanted to feel like I had really beat the game. Now that they've added achievements, it's made it worse. I can't stop playing TF2. There are too many damn achievements.

I don't mind getting achievements, I ignored the 200 flags on Assassin's Creed because well, I have better things to do. What I like is the achievements on Halo:ODST, because they integrate with the gameplay. I lol at my friend who buys/borrows games like Surfs Up for the Gamer Points because well frankly, he's an idiot.

I think that achievements, for the most part, should just happen naturally as you play the game. I see achievements as a gallery of memories. When you see the achievements you think back to the time you were playing with your buddies and that popped up.

I try to only buy games that are fun, instead of for achievements, but the Xbox games I have I go for the achievements.

I've got a PS3 so I'm a trophy hunter, and I like to get them all, except the multi-players ones so long as the game continues to be fun!

An Achievement should be an achievement. You get it for playing the game (normal, but in some significant way). People who hunt them down are insane. Well, i guess that's some kind of metagame.

For example stopping to shoot people, and trying to knife 5 or more in a row and with this costing your team the victory... is just idiotic. Don't like somebody who do that. Just play the damn game and stop whining about you have not 100% achievements.

I see an game as finished if i have seen the outro/credits. Not if i have WORKED hours on some arbitary starnge things like escorting an ceramic short dude through the whole game for no apparent reason.

If they seem fun, I'll do them after I've finished the game and want to increase life-span. If they seem tedious and boring, well, I had better be really bored.

If the achievements in the game aren't so hard or full of grinding that i'd go insane then i'd give them a go for sure.
COD:4 on veteran sent me insane hahah...

I sometimes go for achievements, like the Casey Jones trophy in inFamous, but usually I stop having fun when I actively try to get them.

If I like the game then I will go for the full 1000 but unfortunately most games have some horribly unreasonable achievement which I can't be bothered to go for.

I think there's only 3 games where I got the full 1000 because I loved them so much. So if you want my opinion on games, go see my gamercard and the ones with the high score I've liked more

The other day my friend took all the Splenda packets from the table and pocketed them for home because her hubby had complained they had run out that morning. Her husband then came up and joked, "Now you have to get them from all the other tables."

The only thought that ran through my mind was, "Oh, do I get an achievement for that??" Ugh.

I will go out of my way for achievements, not so much for the gamerscore though.. It's more of a OCD thing; MUST. GET. 100%! I did the same before I got the 360 too though, Kingdom Heart 1+2 springs to mind, that was a drag to fully complete, but I did it!!

I enjoy achievements as a bonus objective to try for, sort of like suggested challenges. So I may go out of my way to unlock certain achievements, especially if they sound like a really fun challenge, but I have long since realized that multiplayer achievements (competitive, not co-op) are a mistake for me. I find attempting to gain them for their own sake to be detrimental to my enjoyment of that aspect of the game. So yeah, I'll try for any achievement I can get in the main campaign, but I do my best to ignore them otherwise.

I finish a game and any I collect are nice.

Then I'll find myself bored one day, and going back over my old games, and I aim for the hundred percent completion just through boredom.

I have only completed one game literally 100% all achievements. Others are spread mostly between 50-90%

I enjoy achievements. They give me bragging rights to all my friends and it is just a good feeling to completely dominate a game.

I try to get my individual game gamerscore to at least 700, and ideally 900. I'll go through alot to fulfill that.

I'll get them on the way through if I enjoyed the game or bored i'll replay and get the ones that I missed, but the only game I ever got them all on was fallout and oblivion
