I'm 15, and i tried to take my driving permit test about three months ago. Usually i don't study for things so i took it without studying. I failed. For the next 2 months i didn't studay at all, but in the last month i read the book and studied and went over al the practice questions. I had gotten one more right then the last time today. Is it this hard for everyone or am i just especially stupid?

I had to take my permit test more than once, even after studying extensively. I've just never been very good at testing...

I'm not sure what the test is like in other countries but in Ireland if you fail the written test you suck at life.

Well, it is pretty tricky and if you get two questions wrong you're denied, but if you put in the effort and study regularly it should be pretty easy.

You need to study some more, which makes me sound like hypocrite because I never study for anything, but I still do pretty good in almost everything.

Well, just really try and study hard like everyone else is saying.

Although, it could be hard depending on what country you're in. Here in the States it's nothing but trick questions and random info, but at least you can fail 8 out of the 50.

50, i'm in the states and it's 30, you can miss 6 of them.
And that's the problem i overthink all of the damn trick questions!

HAHA. i know what you mean. i failed the written test twice. got it just barely on the third. but whats so funny is i got 100% on my actual driving test. and i took the driving test FIRST. so i passed the driving with a cookie, but failed the written test. same thing with my dad all those years ago. the written test HAS NOTHING TO DO with your driving ability.

My buddy didn't get it until his eleventh try so its not just you. I personally got it on my third I think so don't get discouraged just keep going and you'll be bound to get some repeat questions and just learn in the process.

I took the test once and failed by missing one question, came back the next day and passed. Now I've got one more driving lesson and I'm done with the things required for the license application. It isn't hard, you just have to slack off less. Or just know what you're doing.

Probably not this hard for most, but that doesn't mean you're stupid. I'm suprised the practice questions didn't help more, though. What did you do when you missed practice questions? It may help if you look over the entire section covered by questions you missed...that's how I usually swing practice tests, and it works for me. Everyone's different, though. Good luck next time.

This is very bad, terminally bad i might say. You might as well dig your grave now and prepare for the good old dirt nap. I can't imagine how you would ever achieve anything in life when you cannot pass a test which you didn't study for :/

I took lots of extra hours while getting my licence and failed my first test. I was also suprised cause in school (the non-driving kind) i had always been top of the class with little effort.

Some things are ejust harder for some people than others, and just because you're good at one thing doesn't mean you can just do everything without working for it.

Hmm, well each state must be unique then. Mine was 50 in California, and we could miss 8. But yeah, the trick questions were a pain. What Driver's ed did you use? I just used Driversed.com and it covered mostly everything: plus is unique to each state.

I passed on my first try, as did most of my friends. However, I'm in California, so, like RedPandaMan, I was able to miss 8, making it quite easy. Don't over think the trick questions, by the way. They're stupid, and usually not as tricky as you think.

There's no classes and i didn't know of any sites, I'll check it out though, thanks.
And CA has 50!? I'm in AZ, i'd figure they'd be pretty simaler.
