Mortal Kombat 2. It was the first game I ever played and by the time I was six I beat that game every day right before I took its lunch money. I played it again recently and, well, let's just say revenge is indeed a dish best served with a ripped out heart. My heart that is. And my spine.

Also, Glover.

I always wondered why I was much better at the Elite Four way back then than I am now.

Still, that was in G/S/C. I'll see if I still can when Hg/Ss.

Mario Bros. We used to play through the game, no warps, and play to first death. It took hours for someone to die. I played the other day on nestopia and couldn't get very far. And just forget those high flag jumps. I just kept falling. :/

Super Mario Bros.

Easy when i was a kid, now for some reason harder.
Guess i was more patient with the jumps and all that stuff.

I tend to work the opposite way. i hadn't beaten a lot of games when i was younger, mabey it was because i never owned a nes so by the time i got a sega i had some catching up to do. These days when i go back and play old games i'm able to beat most of them with little problem.

It usually takes a good 15 to 20 minutes for all that old knowledge to realise it's needed again but when it happens, I'm on the top of the world.

So no, I never get worse I just don't forget gaming knowledge.

Bucky goddamned O'Hare.

As a child, I made that game my *****. As an adult, it returned the favor.

Street Fighter II for SNES. I don't know how I got as far as I did when I was 7. I can't even get past one or two rounds now. I also had Batman the Animated Series for the SNES. I do just fine until I get up to the first boss fight, and I can't remember what I have to do to survive the last bit of it.

I died WAY more than expected in new super mario bros. I remember being much much better at this sort of game on the NES and SNES:(

Not so much a game.

But having been on an Xbox and Xbox360 so much over the past few years, I can never figure out how I got by with an N64 controller.

I survived with only 1 joystick. I did try going back to my N64 one day. Had this habit of reaching my thumb for the non-existent right thumb stick lol.

For me it's the Sonic the Hedgehog games for MasterSystem. I could do them all when I was like 4 or 5 and now I can only complete them with save states. That is something that really, REALLY depresses me (but not really).

Mortal Kombat 2. I didn't master it by any means however, I was able to beat it on easy with like, 3 different characters. I tried it again years later and can't get past Montaro or whatever his name is.

I didn't have this feeling with a game, but with Lego's. It baffles me to think that I used to be able to create wonderful, imaginative structures and things out of a random heap of Lego parts from all sorts of theme's.

Rock Raiders, pirates, knights, all kind of crap, I had it all. I build it according to the plans once, demolished it and dumped it all in 1 big box. Then I build ánything out of it. When I look at that same box now, I have no idea what to do with it and I wonder how I ever build all those things.

Warcraft: Orcs vs Humans

It was my first real game as a child, and I played it to death.

I tried to play it again a couple months ago, and couldn't get past the 8th or 9th mission, despite vividly remembering completing the game when I was 6 (and couldn't read...).

Gosh this makes me feel old and I'm only 21! I was given a SNES when I was 5 and I remember that damn Power Rangers game! When I was 8 I managed to get to the penultimate level of Super Ghosts 'n Ghouls. I can't imagine I would have the patience to do that now without breaking down crying every time I died.

But when we were in Sixth Form we had a PS1 and I sucked at CTR and pretty much every game we had to play. The only game I was still good at was SD! and I'm sure that was only because everyone else was terrible. :D

I guess Super Mario Land 2 falls into this category.

At present I've "only" made it halfway through the last level, while as a kid I managed to encounter Wario (if only to get my ass handed to me).
