How did YOU celebrate Osama's death?

As a New Yorker, naturally I wanted to spread the good news and celebrate (call people, go nuts on the internet, shout the news to the people on the streets, etc.), but I wasn't able to. So instead, I went to bed.

Same way I imagine thousands of people did after Hitler was reported dead.
"Phew, thank fuck that's over."

I didn't. One thing is that I find it pretty grim to celebrate anyones death (and if anyonesay; what about when people celebrated the death of Hitler, or since I'm norwegian Quisling? I would remind them that the people who celebrated did alot of grim things they should all regret for the rest of their lives.)
Another thing is that this dosen't mean anything in the long run. Bin Laden was an inactive leader of a cell-organisation. As long as a single cell survives, the organisation can revive. One mans death is without meaning to such an organisation.

I had had a cup of tea at an expensive café. That was incidental, though. It is only now that I have attached a celebratory significance to the purchase.

Anyway. Shouldn't celebrate the death of a man. It's weird.

I really don't see a reason to celebrate. This is retarded. Remember how you all responded when people in the middle east were dancing on the streets burning American flags? This is exactly what you're doing now.

Besides, do you think Al Qaida is just gonna be like well fuck, they killed Osama. Guess it's checkmate?

I listened to all the morons screaming in the street like their yelling in victory was gunna bring all our soldiers back from the war. It didn't nothings changed, My father, and two cousins are all in the service now and still are needed.

Celebrating like that was retarded, and kept me up all night long and unfortunately my work doesn't practice the "Somebody I hate died today" holidays.

I didn't, I cried! Ok, ok, just kidding, but you should never celebrate someones death, no matter who! Besides I can think of a few people who are a lot worse than Osama.

I did nothing. While I'm not exactly sad that he died(as in, not sad at all). I still feel celebrating the death of someone else is pretty, well, low.

Celebrating another human's death seems a bit too much like him to me.

I said "about time", spread the news to a few friends, discussed the issue for a few minutes, and then I moved on.

I'd have preferred seeing him thrown in a really nasty prison cell, though.

Watched the news went "Oh how nice" started seeing the Americans chanting USA and just thought "hmm i wonder why they are so excited the war isn't over yet" But i guess you gotta take your prizes when you get 'em.

I'd understand celebration for the returning of troops or whatever, I don't celebrate the murders they're forced to commit.

A Facebook post, an Escapist post, and I called my mom. Otherwise, did nothing.

I watched the speech. I felt a really strange emotion. I'm the type that usually rationalizes things, that even though he was pretty evil, it's still sucks a fellow person had to die, but... I didn't expect to be happy he was gone, it's a weird feeling for me.

I mean, it was late, so I didn't really celebrate, but I did smile and post on some sites. Can't well ignore that part of me.

Me and my brother spent the rest of the news report making jokes on the special, on how the war on terror was finally over.

We did not celebrate.

I celebrated by remembering that I am not one who takes joy in the sadly necessary murders going on in the world.
