Yes, this thread is as geeky as it sounds. I was just wondering what games were peoples first introduction into the bright, fantastic and sometimes kinda sad, but in an accetpable way, world of gaming.

For myself I was a late bloomer and was about 7 when I first played on what I consider a proper game, i.e. one that has levels and not just adding numbers, and that was Yoshi's Island on the SNES; which I still consider to this day one of the best games ever.
Hard to say, my earliest memories are of Super Mario brothers 2, Mega Man, and Bucky O' Hare... but I can't for the life of me remember which came first. I guess that makes me a slut.

I was 5 years old and I had finally picked up a controller and started playing the Original Mario Bros on the NES. :p My brother and sister quickly followed suit and now, 15 years later, we're all avid gamers.

Doom when I was 6. It was scary back then. I still play it on my 360, but I've since lost my PC copy. :(

And then Pokemon Yellow. Now that was an amazing game back in it's time.

Apparently, when I was born. To calm herself, my mom bought in a game boy to calm herself (Avid gamer family) and was playing a game I don't remember. Anyway, I hit the "A" button and alledgedly finished off a boss.

Many years later...
I play First Person Shooters, Hack and slashes, MMO's, RPGs, You name it, I play it.

I was 4. I had just seen my first India Jones movie, and was captivated by the music, thrills, and completely over-my-head tongue-in-cheek humour. I wouldn't shut up about it for days. To the point, in any situation, (white or milk chocolate?) I would ask my mum "What would Indy do?". This is, unfortunately, no word of a lie. I was far too young to know how funny that question is in itself.

In order to accomodate my infatuation with something to stop me turning out gay, my mum bought a Macintosh. For this macintosh, she purchased "India Jones and the Fate of Atlantis". This is still one of my favourite games, and I finished it for the teary-eyed and heart-swelling first time when LA re-released a load of adventure games earlier this year. That had been about 16 years in waiting, because my game glitched once you got to the particularly epic balloon ride.

I have loved games ever since, but I will always have a very large place in my heart for that little p+c adventure.
