In ninth grade I was not paying attention in Algebra and drew a duck in my notebook. I am NOT a good artist, at all, so when making the circle for the duck's head I accidentally made what looked like an angry eyebrow. The thought of an angry/evil duck made me happy so I added a pitch fork and devil horns to match the angry eyebrow.

It's been my user name ever since and whenever given a pencil I usually replicate the duck before doing anything else. It's kind of like a signature. But unofficial. Because they don't let you sign things with crappy pictures.
LOL before you added me, I wanted to add you for your username because I laughed pretty hard when reading your topic lol.
On topic
I didn't make it up. It's from Pokemon but my Avatar is Lucario. A bit odd but I cannot change my name.

I was having a deep philosophical conversation with a friend in Geometry over who would win in a fight, a dragon or a rabbit (I said rabbit.) Then I proposed an almighty super being who is half dragon half rabbit, aptly named Dragon Rabbit. I grew tired of my old standard username at about the time I came to the Escapist, and decided the time for change is now, err... the time for change was then.

Sheep was taken.

But yeah, I'm Welsh and people generally couldn't say my old handles correctly (Itsari/Tulku)- So they called me Sheep instead.

Back when I was in elementary school I day dreamed(and still do)a lot about being a super hero and Nitemare was the son of my arch nemisis,Darkness(real original huh?).Fast foward many years to when I learn about roleplaying and got into it.The first name I used didn't sound right and while thinking of a new name,Nitemare popped into my head and the name stuck.I use the name for everything and,if it didn't sound stupid,Id love for it to be my legal name. The 18 is because I tend to add a year to how old I am when making an account.

I don't really know...I think it just sounded good to me when I was making my gamertag on the original xbox live, and I've used it ever since.

Admittedly, I was inspired by an anime. FullMetal Alchemist, to be exact.

State Alchemists with stand-out abilities are known by a colorful name, i.e. Edward Elric is the FullMetal Alchemist, Roy Mustang is the Flame Alchemist, etc.

Alchemy is the practice of changing one thing to another, and it's my ambition to turn my writing into a career. If I were using old pencils, that would literally turning lead into gold.

I use blue ink in my Waterman pen. Hence, BlueInk Alchemist.

Made it up for YouTube. My surname's Heneghan, and smeghead sounds funny (Red Dwarf ftw). It used to be MrSmegheneghan, but my sister blew it out of the water cause it could be read as mrs meg heneghan. So it's MistaSmegheneghan!

When I was younger(12- or 13-ish), I felt a need for a "cool" nickname and after seeing the name Taz in Need for Speed: Most Wanted, I took Rasmus(my name)-smus+z, thus getting Raz. A couple of years later, I started to use Raz in CS, but I thought it was to short. Luckily, I was shortly thereafter introduced to the song My Name Is Golden by Millencolin. Finally, the last part of the puzzle, Golden+Raz=GoldenRaz.

When I was still young and played a lot of Diablo 1, I was a big fan of the Skeletons.
I also tried coming up with various "medieval" names for my chars and one of them was Leon. At the time, I thought it would be hilarious and incredibly smart to combine Leon + Skeleton into Skeleon.
I soon realised most people think it's just a typo, though. Well, I decided to stick with it nonetheless.

I've been using SunGryphon on the net for about 10 years now. I'm not sure how I came up with it other than I'm a Leo which is a sun sign, and I like gryphons. I was trying to fight off depression at the time so I thought it might be good to have a "sunny" name. My nickname is Sunny, which was given to me by an ex-friend in an MMO but I like it so I still use it.
