I started talking to my boyfriend online and it developed from there.
I think we just started flirting and developing feelings for each other. Granted, our flirting consisted of, "I'll rape you in my blue van" and "I'll clean you up with a brillo pad" [sub]as a joke obviously[/sub] but we got there in the end!
As for your situation, the only thing I can think of is going to the same parties as her, or even get her on Facebook or something. Friendship is the first step!
