And also, don't ever take it to seriously.
That's some of the best advice.

When people take games too seriously, they try hard and usually end up playing badly. Just have fun for the game. Put together a class that makes sense and roll with it. Enjoy the game.

First off, let me just say, im proud of you for admiting that you suck horribly and hold your entire team back. Much like a drug addict, youve takin the first step to recovery, and your on your way to being an average player!

As a person who gets scores like 44/7, and 32/5, i can promise you i know what im talking about. Dont get me wrong, i cannot make you half as awesome as me, nor am i going to say you will be sweeping the floor with every scrub to ever pickup a controller, but i may beable to help you atleast break even some matches.

((onto the important part))

1: F*ck with sensitivity. I dont like the standard "3" its set on. Somedays i switch to 4, others down to 2. Its all about what your confertable with. One of the problems to your terrible, terrible, terrible playing might be that you just arnt ment for your sensitivity.

2: Set your killstreaks to "3-4-5", and use hardline or ghost. Chances are, you wont earn anything higher. Thanks to hardline, you can get a Spy Plane in 2 kills. You get a Spy Plane, you know where almost everyone is. ((Sanz the ghost campers ofcourse)) That means you can afford a slower reaction time, because you will know theyer general area, and be ready for a shoot out.

3: Play smart. Dont go sprinting around the map like an idiot. You'll get shot. You arnt Seananners, and chances are, you never will be. ((hes much to good looking)) Pick an area you can defend, prevent flank attacks on your team. Place a claymore at one end, ((the end away from your team)) and support your team from afar. Chances are, dying alot will only hurt your team. If your in the back, chances aree you will die less. Thats the most important part. But dont camp. Camping means you lose.

4: I cannot stress this enough. Use a gun your comfertable with. Everyone says the AK-74U is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, btu i think its a crappy weapon, and i will never be cought dead with it. Im most comfertable with the M14, Galil, Scorpian, or RPK. These weapons and theyer attachments may not be for you. You will have to find what you like. It wont find you. GET LOOKIN SCRRRRRRRRUB~!

And finally

5: No dying. It may seem like im pointing out common knowledge that death is bad, but when it comes to CoD, dying doesnt just hurt your score, it hurts your entire team. If you die 2-3 times in a row, you gave your opponents a free spy plane, meaning your about to die more. Staying back, playing smart, and not taking risks is the easyest way to not die. Dieing is the real enemy. The longer you live in game, the better your going to get, and the faster your skills will develop. Keeps your head down, and dont go in the open.

To sum it all up, F*ck with your sensitivity, Set your killstreaks low, Play Smart, Use a gun you like, and Keep your head down.

Stop sprinting, maybe even bring up your sights when you 'round a corner. You'll never be caught unaware sprinting, which does wonders for your K/D.

Thats not really true for alot of games. Some games require alot of thought and skill. You cant just play chess and get better at it. You wont beat anyone by just playing.

There are always tips, tricks, and secrets to help you get better.

Pretty simple question for those who play Black Ops online (there will be loads of you, obviously).

How do I get better at this game online? I wanna get a decent experience of it, which is pretty impossible when getting killed in 3 shots by enemies who mysteriously manage to appear right the fuck behind you.

I'm pretty sure it's just a reflex issue, but if it's not there has to be some way to actually get better at this ridiculous game?
If you're getting 0 kills, perhaps shooters just aren't your thing... :/

Don't constantly run through the whole match, learn what weapon combonations work with what perks.

Look at videos like xboxahoy on youtube who really tells you how things work.

Dont listen to the escapists giving you nonsense for liking Black Ops, I'm sure most of them never even saw it and just dismiss it because of it being popular, same with the people who do the same to other popular titles.

It really is just getting used to it.
For a few games (at least) you will suck, really hard. But the more you play and the better weapons you unlock it gets easier.

Hardcore mode, I had the problem that I always hit the guy first but he seamed to be able to kill me cos my clicking finger isn't very good, seriously hardcore is great FAL/ M14/ Python are all 1 shot kills, much less air support, less grenade launchers. Still you will develop a deep hatred for second chance

Galil, Aug, AK-74u, Stoner63 are all great guns
Sleight of Hand is perfect for all of these (Except I recommend Warlord w/ Grip and Rapid Fire for AK-74u)
Headquarters is by far the easiest way to rack up points as long as your teammates don't suck
Try a few hardcore modes and see how you do. You might understand how much to pace yourself.

I can't really recommend much other than practicing.
There's one mode in private matches that sets you against bots if you want to practice against them.
Or try the campaign mode on hardened/veteran difficulty.

I think the better question would be, Why do you want to get better at Black Ops?
way to be helpful brah. Everyone thinks youre super cool because youre too good for black ops.

Try using the ak-74u or Famas
Also definitely try the different sights Iron vs Red dot vs reflex
use 3-5 round bursts with automatic weapons anything more and you are wasting rounds.
try out different game types, and hardcore.
Never rely on teammates to cover their sector, the only thing they are good for is knowing where not to go when the little green arrow disappears from your mini map. Also let them go first, always, so you know if there is an enemy on the room.

also a large part of success in these games is knowing the maps. Right now that means nothing to you. What you need to learn is which routes are high traffic(ie easy kills if you have a spot or instant death if you go rushing out like a tard)
which routes are over-watched( is there a 2nd floor window at the end of this road and lots of other places along the sides? dont go down there)
where the "safe area" ends (when you start there is about a 1/3rd of the map that will be relatively safe and as long as your team spawns there)

Lastly learn how to move. The road may be the easiest and quickest way to get to your objective but is it one of the high traffic areas or is it over-watched constantly? stay inside or in cover when possible only break cover to get to more cover. when going into a room where there might be people use a grenade. crouch often.

You just have to find a style that works for you. All of my weapons are suppressed and I use Ghost pro and Ninja pro along with Steady Aim pro.

Also, a big part of the game is anticipating what your opponent will do. If you see him run a certain way, think of where that leads on the map and cut him off.

Another thing is sound. I can't tell you how many times you'll save your own life if you actually listen to the background noise. You'll hear enemies' voices, weapons fire, and reloading quite clearly.

Lastly, the shortest straight line to the enemy is not always the best route. A longer travel time is worth the benefit you'll receive by getting behind the enemy.

well first, i suggest taking the sensitivity off of 2 and move it up to 3, and try the cheaper guns like the famas or ak74u and don't be stingy with your ammo

My best suggest is to play low risk wager matches of Gun game or Sharpshooter. The constant cycling of guns means you get to try out everything until you find what works best for you. Of course you shouldn't go into the high end matches unless your godlike, but their are plenty of ultra chap matches that will basically be practice for you.

There is also combat training which lets you have any gun you want and you can just practice against the AI without fear of messing up either your stats or anything.

For some games yes, there are tips to give, strategies to learn. But when playing chess you should be observing your opponents strategy and learning from them all the time. If the OP watches his killcams then they'll know where they went wrong, provided the problem wasn't minor lag. We can tell OP how to be good, but we can't make him good by doing it. He has to learn to play by his own style.

My brother was watching a video giving out tips to improve their chances in wager matches. I'm pretty certain that every tip given out was either common sense or something that could have been learnt in a matter of minutes while playing.

So, yes, I see what you're saying, there are some tips to playing that we can give. But, it's much more beneficial to just play the game and find your own style of play. After all, that's what most people do, that's how they have tips.

But the problem with that is in a game like this, you dont live long enough to develop your own style. They kinda asssume your going to be great as FPS games when you buy this.

And yes, alot of tips you can give are common sense, you have to look at how belificial real tips are. Telling him, "Stay in cover" is common sense. Telling him, "Defend an area near your team to prevent flank attacks" is extreamly helpful. How many times does your entire team die because one dude walked all the way around the map so he could go on a knifing spree?

Theres always something useful you can tell someone. No matter how small the peice of information, you can still use it. It takes over 200,000 words to make up the english language. You dont have to know them all, but everyone you know helps.
