I usually just grab the nearest knife and plan out an elaborate murder of someone near me. By the time I actually finish making the plans and am just about to go out and give them a new airhole in their neck, I usually have calmed down enough to....well not actually do it.

The solution is either a nap and happy music or Doom. After about 10-15 minutes of those, I'll forget what was making me mad.

Meditation of sorts, I focus my mind on a single mundane task like playing the piano, gaming or even painting Warhammer models, that way the rest of my mind finds peace and once I'm refreshed I can make decisions with a cool head.

m-m-m-m-music, also a game that involves lots of repetition, my favourite would be a rhythm game since i'm pretty good at them and they help me relax.

And a cup of tea for good measure.

I do one or more of the following:

Watch Law & Order: Criminal intent
Play one of my favourite videogames (I fnd Resident Evil 4 especially cathartic)
Read a book
Listen to music (especially Voltaire)
Go out for a walk
Watch the highlights of an ice hockey match on my computer
Make myself a cup of tea

These things always manage to calm me down :)

Calming down is easy. I just calm down. I'm not weak minded like some people. The real challenge is getting other people to calm down.

another good capatcha: Clyde Ghlyde. I think Im going to use that for a character name some day.

I usually play violent video games where I get to horribly murder things...
I did that this morning. ^_^

Was channeling my irritation into Spying in TF2 this morning.
There were very few untouched backs...

I like to be left on my own, and smoke a lot until I feel better. I probably take it out on people on-line too, on CoD or something.

I bottle it all up forever. I know, that's not healthy, but I hate exercise, have no calming ritual like making tea, don't want to listen to relaxed music when I'm angry, and tend to continue thinking about the asshat who pissed me off long, LONG after any rational person would have moved on.

Music mostly & being left alone, but I rarely get that angry. I'm actually quite afraid of what I might do if I ever get really angry. I used to have a very bad temper & would get pissed at the slightest thing, but I have worked very hard over the years to control it & now that anger buried deep down inside me simply scares me.

Being on bad terms with someone I care about makes me feel kind of sick, so I usually just go to sleep for a while. Picking fights with inanimate objects also helps.

I watch a sad/scary movie and then watch a few episodes of FiM. depression cancels out the anger and frustration and then the unabashedly silly and happy FiM cancels out the sad. It's what I always do after a really bad day at work.

For best results, mix any of the following movies with an hour of faustian pony goodness.
GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES!!!!!!!
5 Centimeters Per Second
Requiem For a Dream
Old "f*cking" Yeller
Pan's Labyrinth
The Orphanage
Jacob's Ladder
The Butterfly Effect
The 1973 Wicker Man
Being John Malkovitch
Synecdoche: New York

I've tried the epic rage technique, it never works too well. Now I just watch some television or listen to the radio, has to be one of the two, the commercials help I guess.

That or I make a grilled cheese sandwich, I've never been angry after making a grilled cheese.

I have several techniques.
Mostly I start yelling as loud as possible. As soon as my voice "breaks" because the vocal chords can't take it anylonger I realize that I reached the point where I can stop yelling and calm down.

I adjust the way I breathe.
I breathe out until there is no more breath left in me.

I also like to be close to the sun.
So that will brighten my mood literally.

If it in the morning than a walk into town or any other time I usually play a funny video to make me thing of something else.
