For me I get the excitement of having said something important enough for someone to want to reply or expand on what I've said. That and the worry that I've posted something sounding quite aggressive and it's going to be someone calling me out on being a prick.

I relish the little notations that tell me someone responded to my post, especially if they disagree with me, and we can have a debate. Other than that, I tend towards sadness when people DON'T respond to posts I put a lot of thought into, like they are just responding to people who quote them and ignoring other posts...
