Yahtzee spews bile. It's what he does. I don't let it affect what I choose to play.

The only game Yahtzee never bashed was Portal. Him saying a game is bad is like him saying that something exists within our universe.

He loathes JRPGs for the same reason I love them. But I watch him for entertainment purposes, not reviews.

I honestly find myself agreeing with Yahtzee 99% of the time. I'm more worried when he praises a game I didn't like (Batman Arkham Asylum). It makes me want to give it the benefit of the doubt.

well, he doesn't change my opinion of a game I like...though I usually do notice everything he mentions a lot more when I play afterward, or a game that I haven't played I usually make fun of it in the way he did when I finally get the chance XD

His job is get angry and make fun of everything about a game while talking really fast. That's his thing. He gets paid to do it.

Yahtzee is not the say all end all for video games anyways... bottom line is, if you enjoy a game, then fine. What Yahtzee says about it shouldn't hurt your opinion of it.
Sometimes it does. As I've said before, while Yahtzee is there to entertain and make fun of everything about a game, he does point out some legitimate things that're wrong with the games industry and that certain games are overrated. He's also an advocate of the "games are art" mantra if his love of Prince of Persia, Silent Hill 2, and pretty much anything he's actually given a positive review towards is anything to go by.

As true as it is that people shouldn't take Yahtzee's criticisms to be fact most of the time, it is worth remembering that when he actually DOES like a game, it's worth checking out.
Sure, but again I say, if you personally enjoy a game, that should ultimately be all you need to know.

I laugh because his criticism is usually pretty close to being accurate... although severely over exaggerated...
It's his opinion, I like the game and I damn well will enjoy it.

I laugh at him because the only reason he wouldn't like them because he's terrible at them (see: Mirror's Edge, Guitar Hero 3, etc).

I think he's just doing it for entertainment, and I know that plenty of people hate the genres I love, so, I don't really care.

Generally speaking, I just go on with my life, chuckling at the more clever jokes he makes.

To paraphase the man himself. "Do you need a simple yea or nay from someone in authority before permitting yourself to have an opinion?"

Eh, differing opinions. He does raise some good points, and he rips apart every game he reviews, whether he genuinely hates it or is pointing out flaws in a game he enjoys. Besides, one thing I think we can all agree on is that he's fuckin' hilarious.

It really bothered me at first because I liked the presentation style of his "reviews" (more like audio-visual rants really). But, now it doesn't bother me. He hates on almost every game he talks about so it's gotten kind of boring for me now.

Sometimes I don't care and sometimes I wonder if he actually dislikes it or if he's just attacking it for his show. Mostly I don't care because we have different tastes in games.
